Deterministic Detection of Single Ion Implantation

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Focused ion beam implantation with high detection efficiencies will enable the rapid and scalable fabrication of advanced spin‐based technologies such as qubits. This work presents the detection efficiencies of a wide range of ions implanted into solid‐state hosts, with efficiencies of >90% recorded for ion species and substrate combinations of ...

Experimental Investigation on the Dynamics Characteristics of a Two-State Quantum Dot Laser under Optical Feedback

open access: yesPhotonics
We experimentally investigate the dynamics characteristics of a two-state quantum dot laser (TSQDL) subject to optical feedback. Firstly, we inspect the impact of the temperature on the power-current characteristics of the ground state (GS) lasing and ...

Enhancing sideband cooling by feedback--controlled light

open access: yes, 2017
We realise a phase-sensitive closed-loop control scheme to engineer the fluctuations of the pump field which drives an optomechanical system, and show that the corresponding cooling dynamics can be significantly improved.

A Lightweight Procedural Layer for Hybrid Experimental–Computational Workflows in Materials Science

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
We unveil a prototype hybrid‐workflow framework that fuses automatedcomputation with hands‐on experiments. Built atop pyiron, a lightweight, parameterized layer translates procedure descriptions into executable manual steps, syncing instrument settings, human interventions, and data capture in real‐time today.

Nuclear Feedback in a Single Electron-Charged Quantum Dot under Pulsed Optical Control

open access: yes, 2010
Electron spins in quantum dots under coherent control exhibit a number of novel feedback processes. Here, we present experimental and theoretical evidence of a feedback process between nuclear spins and a single electron spin in a single charged InAs ...

Near‐Infrared Emitting Lanthanide Catecholate Giant Single Crystals – Morphology Control and Photon Down‐Conversion

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Controlled syntheses of lanthanide coordination polymers based on the dihydroxybenzoquinone (DHBQ) organic linker afforded large single crystals of Ln‐DHBQ CPs (Ln = Yb, Nd). A novel structural variant of Yb‐DHBQ is identified by means of single crystal diffraction analysis.

Electrically Stimulated and Frequency-Tunable Photonic Tonic Spiking Neuron Based on a DFB-LD Under Optical Feedback

open access: yesPhotonics
Based on a distributed feedback laser diode (DFB-LD) under optical feedback, a novel scheme for generating neuron-like tonic spiking is proposed, and the characteristics of the generated neuron-like tonic spiking are numerically investigated.

Tuning the Dielectric Properties of Individual Clay Nanosheets by Interlayer Composition: Toward Nano‐Electret Materials

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The dielectric properties of clays are studied on the level of individual monolayers and functional double stacks. The material breakdown characteristics and charge storage performance are analyzed. For illustration, a defined charge pattern representing a cuneiform character is produced, written into a microscopic clay tile, referencing the origins of
