Liouvillian Superoperator and Maxwell–Bloch Dynamics Under Optical Feedback via the Self-Mixing Effect in Terahertz Quantum Cascade Lasers

open access: yesPhotonics
We present a Maxwell–Bloch dynamics model for Terahertz Quantum Cascade Lasers (THz QCLs) that integrates a density matrix transport model, independent of the number of states per QCL period, with the Maxwell wave equation under the slow-varying envelope

Precise Photon Correlation Measurement of a Chaotic Laser

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2019
The second order photon correlation g(2)(τ) of a chaotic optical-feedback semiconductor laser is precisely measured using a Hanbury Brown−Twiss interferometer.

In‐Depth Profiling Highlights the Effect of Efgartigimod on Peripheral Innate and Adaptive Immune Cells in Myasthenia Gravis

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Myasthenia gravis (MG) is an autoimmune disorder characterized by antibody‐mediated complement activation. Efgartigimod, a neonatal Fc receptor (FcRn) antagonist, is approved for treating generalized MG (gMG). However, its modulatory effects on upstream innate and adaptive immune cells remain largely unexplored.

Feedback-induced nonlinearity and superconducting on-chip quantum optics

open access: yes, 2013
Quantum coherent feedback has been proven to be an efficient way to tune the dynamics of quantum optical systems and, recently, those of solid-state quantum circuits. Here, inspired by the recent progress of quantum feedback experiments, especially those

Stiffer optical tweezers through real-time feedback control [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
Using real-time re-programmable signal processing we connect acousto-optic steering and back-focal-plane interferometric position detection in optical tweezers to create a fast feedback controlled instrument.

Femtosecond fiber-feedback optical parametric oscillator

open access: yesOptics Letters, 2001
We demonstrate what is to our knowledge the first synchronously pumped high-gain optical parametric oscillator (OPO) with feedback through a single-mode fiber. This device generates 2.3-2.7 W of signal power in 700-900-fs pulses tunable in a wavelength range from 1429 to 1473 nm.

Feasibility and Tolerability of Performing Portable MRI for Neurological Disorders in an Outpatient Neurology Clinic: A Prospective Cohort

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Accessing brain magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) can be challenging, especially for underserved patients, which may lead to disparities in neurological diagnosis. Method This mixed‐methods study enrolled adults with one of four neurological disorders: mild cognitive impairment or dementia of the Alzheimer type, multiple sclerosis ...

Microwave Optical Link In The Frequency Range Of 10-18 Gigahertz By Direct Modulation Of Injection Laser Diode [PDF]

open access: yes, 1985
It is demonstrated that an ultra-high speed window buried heterostructure GaAlAs laser fabricated on semi-insulating substrate can be used as narrow band signal transmitters in the Ku-band frequency range (12-20GHz).

Measurement and characterization of laser chirp of multiquantum-well distributed-feedback lasers [PDF]

open access: yes, 1999
Measurements of relative intensity noise and modulation response, before and after propagation in optical fiber, of the output field of multiquantum-well distributed-feedback (MQW-DFB) lasers are used to determine the influence of the intraband damping ...

Elevated Connectivity During Language Processing Is Associated With Cognitive Performance in SeLECTS

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Self‐Limited Epilepsy with Centrotemporal Spikes (SeLECTS) is associated with language impairments despite seizures originating in the motor cortex, suggesting aberrant cross‐network interactions. Here we tested whether functional connectivity in SeLECTS during language tasks predicts language performance.
