TERAHERTZ OPTICAL RECTIFICATION

Journal of Nonlinear Optical Physics & Materials, 1995
We present experimental measurements of Terahertz optical rectification in electro-optic crystals. The measured data was compared with a simple theoretical analysis (anharmonic oscillator model). We also measured Terahertz-bandwidth subpicosecond electromagnetic radiation via nearly-degenerate difference-frequency generation in electrooptic materials.

Optical Rectification in Doped GaSe Crystals

Key Engineering Materials, 2016
It was demonstrated that S- and Te-doped GaSe crystals are useful and prospective for mid-IR and THz generation by optical rectification as well as phase matched mixing of spectral components of the fs pulse (down conversion). Phase matching curves for down-conversion in the S-doped and Te-doped GaSe. The sample optimally doped with sulfur (2.5 mas. %)

Optical rectification in external resonator

Soviet Journal of Quantum Electronics, 1977
An experimental study was made of the enhancement of the optical rectification (detection) resulting from the placing of a nonlinear crystal in an external Fabry–Perot resonator. A theoretical analysis was made of the influence of various factors on the resonator losses and, consequently, on the efficiency of a resonator optical detector.

Optical rectification in β-BBO

2018 International Conference Laser Optics (ICLO), 2018
Optical properties of β-BBO were studied in the range of 0.2 – 2.5 THz at RT and 81 K by THz–TDS. Recorded dispersions were approximated in the form of Sellmeier equations. Phasematched down-conversion, as well as SHG within the THz range, are found possible. Efficient optical rectification into long wavelength region was experimentally observed.

Nonlinear optical phase rectification

Optical Society of America Annual Meeting, 1991
Experimental results are presented for an optical phase rectifier using nonlinear optical processing. We show that this device can be used to convert complex amplitude multiplicative optical noise on a positive scalar image to additive optical noise. Our implementation of phase rectification uses diffusive photorefractive two-beam coupling in a thin ...

Optical Frequency Rectification

2013
Submicron antenna-coupled diodes, called optical rectennas, can directly rectify solar and thermal electromagnetic radiation, and function as detectors and power harvesting devices. The physics of a diode interacting with electromagnetic radiation at optical frequencies is not fully captured in its DC characteristics.

Application of classical models of chirality to optical rectification

The Journal of Chemical Physics, 2008
Classical models of chirality are used to investigate the optical rectification effect in chiral molecular media. Calculation of the zero frequency first hyperpolarizabilities of chiral molecules with different structures is performed and applied to the derivation of a dc electric-dipole polarization.

Mixed-polarization optical rectification in semiconductor waveguides

Journal of the Optical Society of America B, 2001
Mixed polarization optical rectification in semiconductor waveguides is investigated theoretically. Beating between the TE and TM optical modes results in an effective modulation of the second order nonlinearity giving rise to narrow-band THz generation.

On-Chip Metasurface for Optical Directional Rectification

Journal of Lightwave Technology, 2021
On-chip two-dimensional (2D) metasurfaces create a new degree of freedom of light manipulation within a 2D surface, which is an emerging research area with fascinating possibilities for realization of very dense integration and miniaturization in photonic systems.

Rectification with Intersecting Optical Axes for Stereoscopic Visualization

18th International Conference on Pattern Recognition (ICPR'06), 2006
There exist various methods for stereoscopic viewing of images, most requiring some special glasses for controlling what goes to the left and the right eyes of the viewer. Recent technology developments have resulted in displays that enable 3D viewing without glasses.
