Spatiotemporal Optical Vortices [PDF]
We present the first experimental evidence, supported by theory and simulation, of spatiotemporal optical vortices (STOVs). A STOV is an optical vortex with phase and energy circulation in a spatiotemporal plane.

Surface optical vortices [PDF]
It is shown how the total internal reflection of orbital-angular-momentum-endowed light can lead to the generation of evanescent light possessing rotational properties in which the intensity distribution is firmly localized in the vicinity of the surface.

Surface Plasmon Resonance Sensors Using Optical Vortices [PDF]
This study investigates the change in both the angular position and width of the reflectance minimum of an SPR sensor in the Kretschmann configuration when optical vortices instead of plane waves are used for illumination. An analytical expression of the

Generation of femtosecond polygonal optical vortices from a mode-locked quasi-frequency-degenerate laser [PDF]
Polygonal optical vortices—a new subset of optical vortices—uniquely enable numerous applications due to the new degrees of freedom offered and their customizable light intensity structure.

Autofocusing and Self-Healing Optical Vortices Realized via Circular Cubic Phase Modulation
Optical vortices have drawn extensive research interests due to their widespread applications in various fields. Therefore, it is of great significance to modulate optical vortices to endow them with more properties.

Near-Field Evolution of Optical Vortices and Their Spatial Ordering behind a Fork-Shaped Grating
Fork-shaped gratings are periodic structures containing a spatial dislocation known to be used for the production of optical vortices in a far field.

Optical Vortices shape Optical Tornados
We demonstrate that by seeding an accelerating ring-Airy beam with a finite number of off-axis optical vortices, it transforms into a Tornado wave (ToW) upon propagation. Using numerical simulations, we show that both the spiraling high-intensity lobes and the optical vortices exhibit angular acceleration and follow interwinding braid-like trajectories.

Polarization and topological mode dispersion of optical vortices in circular optical fibers [PDF]
In this paper we investigated a problem of intermode dispersion within a group of optical vortices with an azimuthal number greater than or equal to 1 in circular optical fibers.
