Abstract The emergence of linezolid-resistant (LR) enterococci found in food of animal origin arouses attention, but little is known about LR enterococci in fur animals. A total of 342 Enterococcus faecalis and 265 E. faecium strains isolated from fur animals in China from 2015 to 2017 were investigated to determine if LR enterococci ...

The appearance of transferable oxazolidinone resistance genes poses a major challenge to public health and environmental safety. These genes not only lead pathogenic bacteria to become resistant to linezolid but also reduce sensitivity to florfenicol ...

Impacts of florfenicol on the microbiota landscape and resistome as revealed by metagenomic analysis. [PDF]
BACKGROUND:Drug-resistant fish pathogens can cause significant economic loss to fish farmers. Since 2012, florfenicol has become an approved drug for treating both septicemia and columnaris diseases in freshwater fish.

Antibiotic Resistance: A Genetic and Physiological Perspective
The development of resistance to antimicrobials and their historical progression are depicted in this graphic. It draws attention to important biochemical, physiological, and genetic factors that contribute to AMR, such as the transmission of genes, the development of biofilms, and the inactivation of antibiotics.

This study revealed spatio‐temporal characteristics of gastrointestinal resistome in a cow‐to‐calf model and the pattern of their spread to the environment and offspring in the dairy production system. The gastrointestinal tract of dairy cows is a natural reservoir of resistomes and distinguished by gut sites and regions.
