Human Gut Bacteria and Lipidic Nanoparticles: Particle Composition Predicts Structural Transformation and Bacterial Biocompatibility

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Lipidic nanoparticles (LNPs) were incubated with 21 gut bacteria frequently associated with the human microbiome. SAXS revealed that ∼75% of tested species induced structural transformations in monoolein LNPs, whereas phytantriol and phospholipid formulations remained unaffected.

Periodontitis Induces B Cell‐Macrophage Crosstalk to Exacerbate Glucose Dysregulation in Obesity

open access: yesAdvanced Science
A growing consensus indicates that periodontitis (PD) adversely affects glycemic control in type 2 diabetes, though its underlying mechanisms remain unclear.

Systemic antibiotics increase microbiota pathogenicity and oral bone loss

open access: yesInternational Journal of Oral Science, 2023
Periodontitis is the most widespread oral disease and is closely related to the oral microbiota. The oral microbiota is adversely affected by some pharmacologic treatments.

The significant clinical correlation of the intratumor oral microbiome in oral squamous cell carcinoma based on tissue-derived sequencing

open access: yesFrontiers in Physiology, 2023
Background: The microbiota is a critical component of the complex human microenvironment, impacting various physiological processes and disease development via the microbe–host interaction.

Oral Microbiota during Childhood and Its Role in Chemotherapy-Induced Oral Mucositis in Children with Cancer

open access: yesPathogens, 2022
The human oral cavity harbors the second most abundant microbiota after the gastrointestinal tract, with over 700 species currently identified in the oral microflora.

Oral Microbiota in Children with Acute Tonsillitis

open access: yesBiomedical and Biotechnology Research Journal (BBRJ), 2021
Background: More recently, the human oral microbiota has attracted attention in epidemiological research on health and disease. Against this background, changes in the oral microbiota in acute diseases of the upper respiratory tract are of interest in modern pediatrics and epidemiology. The composition of the bacterial flora is

Periodontitis aggravates pulmonary fibrosis by Porphyromonas gingivalis-promoted infiltration of neutrophils and Th17 cells

open access: yesFrontiers in Cellular and Infection Microbiology
IntroductionIdiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF) is a fatal interstitial lung disease. However, the pathogeny of IPF is poorly understood, and therapeutic options are very limited.

[Oral microbiota and liver].

open access: yesMedecine sciences : M/S
The liver has many important biological functions for the body, as it is involved in the storage and distribution of nutrients (carbohydrates to glycogen, lipids to triglycerides), the digestion of fats, the synthesis of blood proteins, and the detoxification of alcohol and drugs.

Mechanism‐Driven Nanoformulations for Cognitive Impairment Induced by Intermittent Hypoxia and Periodontitis

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Clinically, intermittent hypoxia (IH) is often accompanied by periodontitis, which accelerates cognitive impairment induced by IH. Novel Janus mesoporous gold‐silica nanoformulations (RVG‐Au&mSiO2‐TPP‐VB) enable intranasal delivery, achieve hierarchical targeting to neuronal mitochondria, effectively scavenge reactive oxygen species, inhibit the HIF‐1α/
