Consumer demand for ready-to-eat products has stimulated the development of peeling techniques to prepare fresh-cut fruit and vegetables. The total peeling of oranges, that is, the removal of flavedo and albedo is difficult due to the adherence of the albedo to the segment membrane.

BIOPLASTIC MADE OF ORANGE PEELS
DYNA, 2022This study uses orange peel waste to create a biopolymer that can be used for different purposes. In order to achieve this, we evaluated various technologies for the production of the biopolymer, and tried to design the most environmentally friendly process possible.

Agricultural Wastes, 1984
Abstract Orange peels at 13·5% dry matter (DM) were ensiled in a 30 litre high-density polyethylene airtight container for 90 days in a constant-temperature room at 26°C. A drain opening was located at the base of the container that permitted release of gases and seepage only.

Sustainability analysis of orange peel biorefineries
Enzyme and Microbial TechnologyBiorefineries are constantly evolving since new technological advances in enzyme and microbial processes are boosting research for producing new bio-based products. Nevertheless, the step towards real process implementation must overcome a series of stages based on process sustainability in the early design stages. Orange peel (OP) has been profiled as

Proceedings of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, Part D: Journal of Automobile Engineering, 2001
Each year, automotive manufacturers spend the equivalent of millions of pounds sterling on measuring the paint surface defect known as ‘orange peel’. This paper uncovers the near invisibility of orange peel to customers and questions the need for this expenditure on on-line orange peel measurement.

Integrated utilization of orange peel
Bioresource Technology, 1993Abstract Industrial extraction of orange juice produces a large amount of solid waste, mainly orange peel, which is about 45–50% of the original weight of Mexican oranges. Those wastes are considered in Mexico as an ecological problem, because they are dumped on the land around the factories where they putrify.

SCP from orange peel by fermentation with fungi—Acid-treated peel
Biological Wastes, 1989Abstract Orange peel was submitted to an acidic pretreatment. After filtration, a cellulosic residue, suitable as a feedstuff for ruminants, weighing 35–45% of the initial dry matter, was obtained. The fermentation was then carried out on the filtered liquid by utilizing Geotrichum candidum .

FACTORS AFFECTING ORANGE PEEL*
Journal of the American Ceramic Society, 1947A bstract The effects of spraying techniques on orange‐peel surface of porcelain enamel were studied. The volume of atomizing air per unit volume of atomized slip is the predominating factor, and the ratio appears to be 1000 to 1200 cc. of air per 1.0 cc.

The influence of orange peel powder and orange peel charcoal on copper adsorption on soil
2018Since copper is a widely used metal in industry and households, there are many potential sources for copper pollution of surface water and soil. One of the most effective treatments for heavy metal removal at low concentrations is adsorption on solid adsorbents, while removal at high concentrations can be achieved by chemical precipitation or ...
