Role of HTLV-1 orf-I encoded proteins in viral transmission and persistence
The human T cell leukemia virus type 1 (HTVL-1), first reported in 1980 by Robert Gallo’s group, is the etiologic agent of both cancer and inflammatory diseases.

Heterogeneity of gene expression of the hemagglutinin-esterase (HE) protein of murine coronaviruses. [PDF]
The hemagglutinin-esterase (HE) membrane glycoprotein is present only in some members of the coronavirus family, including some strains of mouse hepatitis virus (MHV). In the JHM strain of MHV, expression of the HE gene is variable and corresponds to the

Molecular characterization of orf virus from sheep and goats in Ethiopia, 2008–2013
Orf is a contagious disease of sheep, goats and wild ungulates caused by orf virus (ORFV) a member of the genus Parapoxvirus, Poxviridae family. Although orf is endemic in Ethiopia, little attention has been given so far as it is not a notifiable disease

ABSTRACT Orthobornaviruses express X and the phosphoprotein (P) from a bicistronic X/P mRNA, and these proteins regulate polymerase activity. In mammalian orthobornaviruses, the 5′ untranslated region (5′ UTR) of the X/P mRNA controls the translational balance between X and P and thereby promotes efficient replication.

The feasibility of using RNA interference to control the globally important quarantine pest, the spongy moth. Targeting genes related to JHs play an important role in the growth and development of insects. First, the open reading frames (ORFs) of Ldjhamt and Ldjheh were identified and characterized, and the target genes were cloned and double‐stranded ...
