On-Farm Transport of Ornamental Fish

open access: yesEDIS, 2006
FA-119, a 6-page illustrated fact sheet by Tina C. Crosby, Jeffrey E. Hill, Carlos V. Martinez, Craig A. Watson, and Roy P.E. Yanong, describes how to reduce factors that contribute to stress in ornamental fish during transport from the grow-out pond to the holding facility. Includes recommended reading and references. Natural South African iron‐rich sand as a functional catalyst in hybrid photocatalytic wet peroxide oxidation technology for the degradation of methyl orange dye pollutant

open access: yesThe Canadian Journal of Chemical Engineering, EarlyView.
This research explored South African iron‐rich sand (SAIRS) as a natural catalyst for light‐mediated wet peroxide oxidation of methyl orange dye in wastewater and at an optimized of conditions of 3500 mg/L catalyst dose, 6 mM H2O2, and pH 2.5, SAIRS achieved 94% methyl orange degradation within 90 min under visible light.

Modelling Sustainability Performance in Manufacturing Companies

open access: yesCorporate Social Responsibility and Environmental Management, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Nowadays, organisations need to operate with economic, social and environmental goals in mind. Indices objectively quantify such goals; hence, an organisation can develop and compare policies based on future index values. We propose a system dynamics‐based model of a manufacturing company that frames its operations in terms of a set of easily ...

In Vivo and In Vitro Evaluation of PTeCA (1H‐Pyrrole‐2,3,4,5‐Tetracarboxylic Acid) in Hair Matrix as a Marker for Oxidative Cosmetic Treatment

open access: yesDrug Testing and Analysis, EarlyView.
A total of 3378 self‐reported treated and untreated hair samples were analyzed for PTCA and PTeCA by LC‐MS/MS. Moreover, their in vitro formation was assessed in 225 untreated hair by different cosmetic treatments with and without oxidative agents. Data suggest that PTeCA could be a reliable marker for oxidative cosmetic treatments in hair.
