Harnessing energy metabolism for enhanced bone defect repair: Mechanisms and therapeutic strategies

open access: yesVIEW, EarlyView.
This review addresses the critical challenge of bone defect repair by focusing on the underexplored role of cellular energy metabolism. It synthesizes regulatory mechanisms in bone‐forming cells and sums up innovative strategies—leveraging cell derivatives, active factors, and biomimetic scaffolds—to modulate metabolism for enhanced regeneration.

Hox Gene Variation Drives Morphological Specialization of Humpback Grouper Cromileptes altivelis

open access: yesIntegrative Zoology, EarlyView.
Cromileptes altivelis exhibits a distinctive “sunken head and humpback” morphology, formed through cranial remodeling. Genetic analyses identified unique amino acid variants in Hoxa7a and Hoxa10b, with functional tests confirming their role in enhancing osteoblast activity and driving cranial remodeling.

Mesenchymal Stem Cells From a Klinefelter Syndrome Patient: Functional Characterization and Therapeutic Implications

open access: yesAndrology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Cell therapy, particularly those utilizing mesenchymal stem/stromal cells (MSCs), is gaining traction as a therapeutic option for regenerative treatment in patients with limited therapeutic options. Although the safety of MSC‐based interventions is well established, uncertainties remain regarding how genetic abnormalities and ...

Pregnancies in women with rare diseases: Selected maternal and perinatal outcomes

open access: yesActa Obstetricia et Gynecologica Scandinavica, EarlyView.
Pregnancies in women with rare diseases carry substantial disease‐related (23.2%) and pregnancy‐specific (25.1%) risks. Complication rates drop markedly when conditions are stable before conception. Abstract Introduction Rare diseases (RD) are characterized by chronicity and may be associated with reduced life expectancy and quality of life.
