Coupling of palmitate to ovalbumin inhibits the induction of oral tolerance
Oral tolerance is a phenomenon that may occur in animals exposed to protein antigens for the first time by the oral route. They become unable to produce immune responses at the levels normally observed when they are immunized parenterally with antigen in

Ovalbumin subfractionation and individual difference in ovalbumin microheterogeneity.
Purified ovalbumin from hen egg white was fractionated by concanavalin A (Con A)/Sepharose chromatography. Four major fractions were separated, one unadsorbed fraction OA, followed by a minor fraction OA', and three adsorbed fractions OB, OC, and OD. The recovery was over 90%. Fractional ratios (OA:OB:OC:OD) were 16:6:37:41.

Structural Differences of Ovalbumin and S-Ovalbumin Revealed by Denaturing Conditions
We found, by circular dichroism and Raman spectroscopy measurements, that the secondary structure of the native ovalbumin and of its heat-stable form, called S-ovalbumin, is a probe of the structural differences between the two proteins. Small angle X-ray scattering and circular dichroism measurements performed on the two proteins under denaturing ...
