Kinetics of the Denaturation of Ovalbumin and S-Ovalbumin by Alcohols [PDF]

open access: yesBulletin of the Chemical Society of Japan, 1988
Abstract The kinetics of denaturation of ovalbumin and S-ovalbumin by butyl alcohol isomers (butyl alcohol, isobutyl alcohol, s-butyl alcohol, and t-butyl alcohol) have been studied. The reactions were characterized as first order with respect to the protein and 11th order for the alcohols, irrespective of the kind of protein or alcohol.

Albumen protein and functional properties of gelation and foaming Proteínas do albume e propriedades fucionais de gelatinização e formação de espuma

open access: yesScientia Agricola, 2006
Hen eggwhite proteins have been extensively utilized as ingredients in food processing because of their unique functional properties, such as gelling and foaming. This work reviews the molecular basis of the eggwhite proteins targeting the development of

Substrate-binding sites of UBR1, the ubiquitin ligase of the N-end rule pathway [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
Substrates of a ubiquitin-dependent proteolytic system called the N-end rule pathway include proteins with destabilizing N-terminal residues. N-recognins, the pathway’s ubiquitin ligases, contain three substrate-binding sites. The type-1 site is specific

Inhibitory effects of inhaled complex traditional Chinese medicine on early and late asthmatic responses induced by ovalbumin in sensitized guinea pigs

open access: yesBMC Complementary and Alternative Medicine, 2011
Background Many formulae of traditional Chinese medicines (TCMs) have been used for antiasthma treatment dating back many centuries. There is evidence to suggest that TCMs are effective as a cure for this allergenic disease administered via gastric tubes

MHC class II-restricted antigen presentation by plasmacytoid dendritic cells drives proatherogenic T cell immunity [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Background—Plasmacytoid dendritic cells (pDCs) bridge innate and adaptive immune responses and are important regulators of immuno-inflammatory diseases. However, their role in atherosclerosis remains elusive.

A vaccine formulated with the major outer membrane protein can protect C3H/HeN, a highly susceptible strain of mice, from a Chlamydia muridarum genital challenge. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
C3H/HeN female mice were vaccinated with native Chlamydia muridarum major outer membrane protein (MOMP), using Montanide+CpG or Alum+CpG as adjuvants. Negative control groups were immunized with ovalbumin (OVA) and the same adjuvants. As positive control,

Ovalbumin subfractionation and individual difference in ovalbumin microheterogeneity.

open access: yesJournal of Biological Chemistry, 1981
Purified ovalbumin from hen egg white was fractionated by concanavalin A (Con A)/Sepharose chromatography. Four major fractions were separated, one unadsorbed fraction OA, followed by a minor fraction OA', and three adsorbed fractions OB, OC, and OD. The recovery was over 90%. Fractional ratios (OA:OB:OC:OD) were 16:6:37:41.

Biodistribution of free 99mTc-ovalbumin and 99mTc-ovalbumin encapsulated in liposomes [PDF]

open access: yesBrazilian Archives of Biology and Technology, 2005
The oral administration of proteic antigens, like ovalbumin, may result in the induction of oral tolerance or immunization. The aim of this work was to label a protein antigen with 99mTechnetium, encapsulate it in liposomes and investigate its absorption and tissue distribution after oral administration in mice. Ovalbumin was labeled with 99mTechnetium
