Design and operation of a cryogenic charge-integrating preamplifier for the MuSun experiment

open access: yes, 2014
The central detector in the MuSun experiment is a pad-plane time projection ionization chamber that operates without gas amplification in deuterium at 31 K; it is used to measure the rate of the muon capture process $\mu^- + d \rightarrow n + n + \nu_\mu$

What kind of noise guarantees security for the Kirchhoff-Loop-Johnson-Noise key exchange? [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
This article is a supplement to our recent one about the analysis of the noise properties in the Kirchhoff-Law-Johnson-Noise (KLJN) secure key exchange system [Gingl and Mingesz, PLOS ONE 9 (2014) e96109, doi:10.1371/journal.pone.0096109].

Over Voltage Protection for Household Equipments

open access: yesInternational Journal for Research in Applied Science and Engineering Technology
This paper identifies the development of an over voltage protection in order to avoid damage in load side. Most of home appliances are expensive also more sensitive. This may get damaged due to the instabilities in ac mains supply. It can also lead to losses in the electrical circuit. These losses lead to low power factors and wastage of so much power.

A methionine‐lined active site governs carbocation stabilization and product specificity in a bacterial terpene synthase

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study reveals a unique active site enriched in methionine residues and demonstrates that these residues play a critical role by stabilizing carbocation intermediates through novel sulfur–cation interactions. Structure‐guided mutagenesis further revealed variants with significantly altered product profiles, enhancing pseudopterosin formation. These

Artifical Excitation of Ferro-Resonance for Testing Electrotechnical Equipment in Distribution Devices with Increased Voltage

open access: yesИзвестия высших учебных заведений и энергетических объединенний СНГ: Энергетика, 2006
On the basis of the developed device for protection against of ferro-resonant and high-frequency cumulative over-voltages an algorithm for obtaining a voltage imitating ferro-resonant over-voltages is proposed in the paper.

Valosin‐containing protein counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its ATPase activity in vitro

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.

Over voltage protection device for ROV

open access: yes, 2014
Supplying power to equipment always imposes a risk of damaging it. This risk is apparent in every application whether it be an industrial or a home appliance. One of these harmful occurrences is something like lightning which introduces a potentially harmful voltage in the system.

Diversity and complexity in neural organoids

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Neural organoid research aims to expand genetic diversity on one side and increase tissue complexity on the other. Chimeroids integrate multiple donor genomes within single organoids. Self‐organising multi‐identity organoids, exogenous cell seeding, or enforced assembly of region‐specific organoids contribute to tissue complexity.
