International Journal for Numerical Methods in Fluids, 2011SUMMARYWe present an overset grid method for solution of the integro‐differential vorticity–velocity formulation of the Navier–Stokes equations for two‐dimensional, incompressible flow. The method uses a body‐fitted inner grid, on which vorticity is evolved semi‐implicitly, and a Cartesian outer grid with explicit vorticity evolution.

Implementation and verification of an explicit overset grid method [PDF]
, 2018 This paper presents an initial implementation of the overset method in the solver ReFRESCO. The DCI (Domain Connectivity Information) is computed by the external library Suggar++ and the coupling between meshes is done explicitly. Manufactured solutions and analytical solutions are used in order to quantitatively assess the discretisation errors.
