Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.

Acupuncture for rheumatic conditions: an overview of systematic reviews [PDF]

open access: yesRheumatology, 2010
Several systematic reviews (SRs) have assessed the effectiveness of acupuncture for rheumatic conditions, often with contradictory conclusions. Our aim is to provide a critical evaluation and summary of these data.Electronic searches were conducted in 15 databases to locate all SRs on acupuncture for rheumatic conditions published since 2000. Data were

Cell surface interactome analysis identifies TSPAN4 as a negative regulator of PD‐L1 in melanoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Using cell surface proximity biotinylation, we identified tetraspanin TSPAN4 within the PD‐L1 interactome of melanoma cells. TSPAN4 negatively regulates PD‐L1 expression and lateral mobility by limiting its interaction with CMTM6 and promoting PD‐L1 degradation.

Barriers and facilitators to enrollment in pediatric clinical trials: an overview of systematic reviews

open access: yesSystematic Reviews
Background Recruiting a sufficient number of patients is often a challenge for conducting clinical trials. Published data reveal that only 10% of eligible patients according to inclusion and exclusion criteria are enrolled in clinical trials ...

LDAcoop: Integrating non‐linear population dynamics into the analysis of clonogenic growth in vitro

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Limiting dilution assays (LDAs) quantify clonogenic growth by seeding serial dilutions of cells and scoring wells for colony formation. The fraction of negative wells is plotted against cells seeded and analyzed using the non‐linear modeling of LDAcoop.

The impact of self-monitoring in chronic illness on healthcare utilisation: a systematic review of reviews [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Background: Self-management interventions have been found to reduce healthcare utilisation in people with long-term conditions, but further work is needed to identify which components of these interventions are most effective. Self-monitoring is one such
