Al-Pt MOCVD coatings for the protection of Ti6242 alloy against oxidation at elevated temperature [PDF]
Results on isothermal oxidation at 873K for 90 h of Al-Pt coatings on Ti6242 coupons are reported. These coatings were obtained by low temperature, low pressure metalorganic chemical vapor deposition using Me3(MeCp)Pt(VI) and dimethylethylamine alane ...

Disruption of SETD3‐mediated histidine‐73 methylation by the BWCFF‐associated β‐actin G74S mutation
The β‐actin G74S mutation causes altered interaction of actin with SETD3, reducing histidine‐73 methylation efficiency and forming two distinct actin variants. The variable ratio of these variants across cell types and developmental stages contributes to tissue‐specific phenotypical changes. This imbalance may impair actin dynamics and mechanosensitive

Nitric oxide, oxidative stress, and apoptosis [PDF]
Life demands intra- and intercellular communication in and between cells to respond and adapt to changes in the environment. Among signaling molecules, reactive oxygen (ROS) and nitrogen (RNS) species gained attention in facilitating intracellular communication and causing cell demise during pathology.

A mathematical model of bacteria capable of complete oxidation of ammonium predicts improved nitrogen removal and reduced production of nitrous oxide [PDF]
The removal of excess nutrients from water ecosystems requires oxidation of toxic ammonium by two types of bacteria; one oxidizes ammonium to nitrite and the other oxidizes nitrite to nitrate.

Clioquinol rescues Parkinsonism and dementia phenotypes of the tau knockout mouse
Iron accumulation and tau protein deposition are pathological features of Alzheimer's (AD) and Parkinson's diseases (PD). Soluble tau protein is lower in affected regions of these diseases, and we previously reported that tau knockout mice display motor ...

Oxidation Behavior of a Pd_(43)Cu_(27)Ni_(10)P_(20) Bulk Metallic Glass and Foam in Dry Air [PDF]
The oxidation behavior of both Pd_(43)Cu_(27)Ni_(10)P_(20) bulk metallic glass (Pd4-BMG) and its amorphous foam containing 45 pct porosity (Pd4-AF) was investigated over the temperature range of 343 K (70 °C) to 623 K (350 °C) in dry air.

Single‐cell insights into the role of T cells in B‐cell malignancies
Single‐cell technologies have transformed our understanding of T cell–tumor cell interactions in B‐cell malignancies, revealing new T‐cell subsets, functional states, and immune evasion mechanisms. This Review synthesizes these findings, highlighting the roles of T cells in pathogenesis, progression, and therapy response, and underscoring their ...
