GAUGING OF CHERN-SIMONS p-BRANES [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Modern Physics A, 1994
The Chern-Simons membranes and in general the Chern-Simons p-branes moving in D-dimensional target space admit an infinite set of secondary constraints. With respect to the Poisson bracket these constraints form a closed algebra which contains the classical W1+∞ algebra in p dimensions as a subalgebra.

Delocalized, non-SUSY p-branes, tachyon condensation and tachyon matter [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
We construct non-supersymmetric p-brane solutions of type II supergravities in arbitrary dimensions (d) delocalized in one of the spatial transverse directions.

Microstates of black holes in expanding universe from interacting branes

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2017
Thermodynamics of the near extremal black p-branes can be described by collective motions of gravitationally interacting branes. This proposal is called the p-soup model.

p-brane Taxonomy

open access: yes, 1997
We review an approach to the construction and classification of p-brane solitons in arbitrary dimensions, with an emphasis on those that arise in toroidally-compactified M-theory. Procedures for constructing the low-energy supergravity limits in arbitrary dimensions, and for studying the supersymmetry properties of the solitons are presented.

Gravity in spacetimes with cosmological constants [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
This thesis is composed of two parts: gravity in the spacetime with a negative/positive cosmological constant. The first part, which is the negative case, devotes to constructing the IIB supergravity dual solution in AdS/CFT correspondence for N = (1, 0)

Strings, branes, and gravity duals of gauge theories [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
We study the correspondence between certain supersymmetric gauge theories and their dual supergravity descriptions. Using low-energy brane probes of the super-gravity geometries we find moduli spaces of vacua, as expected from considering the dual gauge ...

Gauge Theories from D Branes

open access: yes, 2006
In these lectures we start with a pedagogical introduction of the properties of open and closed superstrings and then, using the open/closed string duality, we construct the boundary state that provides the description of the maximally supersymmetric Dp ...

Super-exceptional geometry: origin of heterotic M-theory and super-exceptional embedding construction of M5

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2020
In the quest for the mathematical formulation of M-theory, we consider three major open problems: a first-principles construction of the single (abelian) M5-brane Lagrangian density, the origin of the gauge field in heterotic M-theory, and the ...

Aspects of supersymmetry in multiple membrane theories

open access: yes, 2011
PhDThis thesis consists of two parts. In the rst part we investigate the worldvolume supersymmetry algebra of multiple membrane theories. We begin with a description of M-theory branes and their intersections from the perspective of spacetime and ...

Brane annihilation in non-supersymmetric strings

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2019
In this paper we study non-perturbative instabilities in Anti-de Sitter vacua arising from flux compactifications of string models with broken supersymmetry.
