Ten dimensional type IIA and IIB theories with p-branes are compactified to 8-dimensions. It is shown that resulting branes can be classified according to the representations of $\bf {SL(3,Z) \times SL(2,Z)}$. These p-branes can also be obtained by compactification of M theory on three torus and various wrappings of membrane and five brane of the ...

We study a local description of composite five-branes of codimension two. The formulation is constructed by virtue of SL(2,Z)×SL(2,Z) monodromy associated with two-torus.

Abstract It is shown that the extension of the spacetime supersymmetric Green-Schwarz covariant action p -dimensional extended objects ( p -branes) is possible if and only if the on-shell p -dimensional Bose and Fermi degrees of freedom are equal. This is further evidence for world-tube supersymmetry in these models.

INTERACTING OPEN p-BRANES [PDF]
The Kalb-Ramond action, derived for interacting strings through an action-at-a-distance force, is generalized to the case of interacting p-dimensional objects (p-branes) in D- dimensional space-time. The openp-brane version of the theory is especially taken up.

Localized Intersections of Non-Extremal p-branes and S-branes [PDF]
A class of solutions to Supergravity in 10 or 11 dimensions is presented which extends the non-standard or semi-local intersections of Dp-branes to the case of non-extremal p-branes. The type of non-extremal solutions involved in the intersection is free

Dynamics of revolving D-branes at short distances
We study the behavior of the effective potential between revolving Dp-branes at all ranges of the distance r, interpolating r » ls and r « ls (ls is the string length).

Multiscalar p-Brane Solitons [PDF]
In a previous paper,10 supersymmetric p-brane solutions involving one dilatonic scalar field in maximal supergravity theories were classified. Although these solutions involve a number of participating field strengths, they are all equal and thus they carry equal electric or magnetic charges.

Intersecting branes in matrix theory [PDF]
We construct BPS states in the matrix description of M-theory. Starting from a set of basic M-theory branes, we study pair intersections which preserve supersymmetry.

N $$ \mathcal{N} $$ = (0, 2) AdS3 solutions of type IIB and F-theory with generic fluxes
We consider the most general AdS3 solutions of type IIB supergravity admitting a dynamical SU(3) structure and preserving N $$ \mathcal{N} $$ = (0, 2) supersymmetry. The analysis is broken into three distinct classes depending on whether the dynamical SU(
