Intersection Rules for p-Branes [PDF]

open access: yesPhysics Letters B, 1997
We present a general rule determining how extremal branes can interesect in a configuration with zero binding energy. The rule is derived in a model independent way and in arbitrary spacetime dimensions $D$ by solving the equations of motion of gravity ...

p-Branes and the GZK Paradox [PDF]

open access: yesPhysics Letters B, 2002
In spacetimes with asymmetric extra dimensions, cosmic neutrino interactions may be extraordinarily enhanced by p-brane production. Brane formation and decay may then initiate showers deep in the Earth's atmosphere at rates far above the standard model ...

Harmonic superpositions of non-extremal p-branes [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Modern Physics A, 1997
The plot of allowed p and D values for p-brane solitons in D-dimensional supergravity is the same whether the solitons are extremal or non-extremal.

p-branes on the waves

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2009
We present a large family of simple, explicit ten-dimensional supergravity solutions describing extended extremal supersymmetric Ramond-Ramond p-branes embedded into time-dependent dilaton-gravity plane waves of an arbitrary (isotropic) profile, with the

Multiscalar p-Brane Solitons [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Modern Physics A, 1997
In a previous paper,10 supersymmetric p-brane solutions involving one dilatonic scalar field in maximal supergravity theories were classified. Although these solutions involve a number of participating field strengths, they are all equal and thus they carry equal electric or magnetic charges.

Stainless super p-branes [PDF]

open access: yesNuclear Physics B, 1995
The elementary and solitonic supersymmetric $p$-brane solutions to supergravity theories form families related by dimensional reduction, each headed by a maximal (`stainless') member that cannot be isotropically dimensionally oxidized into higher dimensions. We find several new families, headed by stainless solutions in various dimensions $D\le 9$.

Global aspects of p-branes [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Geometry and Physics, 1995
We generalize to dimension $p>1$ the notion of string structure and discuss the related obstruction. We apply our results to a model of bosonic $p$-branes propagating on a principal $G$-bundle, coupled to a Yang--Mills field and an antisymmetric tensor field and in the presence of a Wess-Zumino term in the Lagrangian.

Super p-branes [PDF]

open access: yesPhysics Letters B, 1987
Abstract It is shown that the extension of the spacetime supersymmetric Green-Schwarz covariant action p -dimensional extended objects ( p -branes) is possible if and only if the on-shell p -dimensional Bose and Fermi degrees of freedom are equal. This is further evidence for world-tube supersymmetry in these models.

Ten-dimensional lifts of global supersymmetry on curved spaces

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2018
Admissible curved space backgrounds for four-dimensional supersymmetric field theories are determined by solving Killing spinor equations of four-dimensional off-shell supergravities.
