The different faces of branes in double field theory
We show how the Wess-Zumino terms of the different branes in string theory can be embedded within double field theory. Crucial ingredients in our construction are the identification of the correct brane charge tensors and the use of the double field ...

Five-brane actions in double field theory
We construct an action for NSNS 5-branes which is manifestly covariant under O(d, d). This is done by doubling d of the spacetime coordinates which appear in the worldvolume action.

(p,q)-strings probing five-brane webs
In recent work, globally well-defined Type IIB supergravity solutions with geometry AdS 6 × S 2 warped over a Riemann surface Σ were constructed and conjectured to describe the near-horizon geometry of (p, q) five-brane webs in the conformal limit.

Dual D-brane actions in nonrelativistic string theory
We study worldvolume actions for D-branes coupled to the worldvolume U(1) gauge field and Ramond-Ramond (RR) potentials in nonrelativistic string theory.

ON NONLINEARITY OF p-BRANE DYNAMICS [PDF]
Nonlinear equations of p-branes in D = (2p + 1)-dimensional Minkowski space are discussed. Presented are new exact solutions for a set of spinning p-branes with the Abelian symmetries U(1) × U(1) × ⋯ ×U(1) of their shapes.

ON TARGET SPACE DUALITY IN p-BRANES [PDF]
We study the target space duality transformations in p-branes as transformations which mix the world volume field equations with Bianchi identities. We consider an (m+p+1)-dimensional space-time with p+1 dimensions compactified, and a particular form of the background fields.

Microstates of D1–D5(-P) black holes, as interacting D-branes
In our previous study (Morita et al., 2014 [1]), we figured out that the thermodynamics of the near extremal black p-branes can be explained as the collective motions of gravitationally interacting elementary p-branes (the p-soup proposal).

Ten dimensional type IIA and IIB theories with p-branes are compactified to 8-dimensions. It is shown that resulting branes can be classified according to the representations of $\bf {SL(3,Z) \times SL(2,Z)}$. These p-branes can also be obtained by compactification of M theory on three torus and various wrappings of membrane and five brane of the ...

Spinning solutions for the bosonic M2-brane with C ± fluxes
In this work we obtain classical solutions of the bosonic sector of the supermembrane theory with two-form fluxes associated to a quantized constant C ± background. This theory satisfies a flux condition on the worldvolume that induces monopoles over it.
