Deciphering How Olive Volatiles and Fatty Acids Shape Bactrocera oleae (Rosii) Oviposition Preference Using Multivariate Regression Models

open access: yesJournal of Applied Entomology, Volume 150, Issue 2, Page 254-264, March 2026.
ABSTRACT The olive fly (Bactrocera oleae (Rossi)), the major pest of olives, primarily recognises visual, olfactory, acoustic, gustatory and tactile signals that regulate its behavioural activity, courtship and reproductive success, as well as the search for ideal conditions for its offspring.

Small and Simple Molecular Structure Based Thermally Stable Ruthenium Precursor in Advancing Ruthenium ALD Process for Scaled Interconnect Metallization

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 8, 9 February 2026.
A thermally robust (≈400 °C), critically small‐size‐simple ligand structure ruthenium (Ru) precursor enables exceptional growth per cycle (≈1.28 Å cycle−1), short incubation (≈8 cycles), ultralow resistivity (8.65 µΩ cm) and outstanding substrate selectivity via atomic layer deposition (ALD) process at high temperatures, overcoming prior Ru‐ALD ...

Studying the Outcomes and Mechanisms of Carbocationic Rearrangements Using Algorithm‐Augmented Experimentation

open access: yesChemistryEurope, Volume 4, Issue 2, February 2026.
HopCat, a hybrid algorithm combining rule‐based transformations with quantum‐informed kinetics, can be applied to acid‐catalyzed terpenoid rearrangements. In synergy with human chemists and nuclear magnetic resonance analysis, it facilitates product assignment, candidate selection, and reconstruction of complex mechanistic pathways.

Carvacrol and p-cymene inactivate Escherichia coli O157:H7 in apple juice

open access: yesBMC Microbiology, 2005
Background Outbreaks of food poisoning associated with drinking un-pasteurised apple juice contaminated with enterohaemorrhagic Escherichia coli O157:H7 are a cause of serious illness and occasionally death.

Synthesis of cholesterol-reducing sterol esters by enzymatic catalysis in bio-based solvents or solvent-free [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Enzymatic synthesis of a β-sitosterol ester in bio-based solvents was compared with conventional solvents. Limonene and p-cymene gave higher initial reaction rates than n-hexane, and comparable conversions after 24 hours (∼75%).

Larvicidal Activity of Naringenin: Betaine Cocrystals Against Aedes Aegypti

open access: yesCrystal Research and Technology, Volume 61, Issue 2, February 2026.
This study demonstrates that naringenin: betaine cocrystals significantly enhance larvicidal activity against Aedes aegypti compared to physical mixtures or pure compounds. Improved dissolution properties contributed to higher mortality rates, supporting the use of cocrystallization as a promising green technology for vector management.
