On the computational equivalence of co-NP refutations of a matrix being a P-matrix

open access: yes, 2021
A P-matrix is a square matrix $X$ such that all principal submatrices of $X$ have positive determinant. Such matrices appear naturally in instances of the linear complementarity problem, where these are precisely the matrices for which the corresponding linear complementarity problem has a unique solution for any input vector.

Mapping the evolution of mitochondrial complex I through structural variation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Respiratory complex I (CI) is crucial for bioenergetic metabolism in many prokaryotes and eukaryotes. It is composed of a conserved set of core subunits and additional accessory subunits that vary depending on the organism. Here, we categorize CI subunits from available structures to map the evolution of CI across eukaryotes. Respiratory complex I (CI)

Review on Some Sequence Spaces of p-adic Numbers [PDF]

open access: yesEurasian Journal of Science and Engineering, 2017
In this paper, we make a literature review on p-adic sequences and we prove some new topological properties on the sequence spaces w(p), l∞(p) and c(p) of p-adic numbers as the set of all sequences, the set of bounded sequences and the set of convergent ...

Reciprocal control of viral infection and phosphoinositide dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Phosphoinositides, although scarce, regulate key cellular processes, including membrane dynamics and signaling. Viruses exploit these lipids to support their entry, replication, assembly, and egress. The central role of phosphoinositides in infection highlights phosphoinositide metabolism as a promising antiviral target.

Chirality Evolution of Supramolecular Helices by Electron Transfer Assisted Secondary Nucleation

open access: yesAdvanced Science
Chirality evolution is ubiquitous and important in nature, but achieving it in artificial systems is still challenging. Herein, the chirality evolution of supramolecular helices based on l‐phenylalanine derivative (LPF) and naphthylamide derivate (NDIAPY)

An improved bound for a fundamental constant associated with a P-matrix

open access: yesApplied Mathematics Letters, 1989
AbstractLet M be an n-by-n P-matrix. We determine the optimal lower bound for the quantity α(M) ≡ min {maxi xi(Mx)i : x ϵ Rn, ‖x‖∞ = 1} based on the real eigenvalues of the principal submatrices of M and the maximum of the absolute values of the off-diagonal entries of M. This bound is positive whenever M is a P-matrix.

The role of fibroblast growth factors in cell and cancer metabolism

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Fibroblast growth factor (FGF) signaling regulates crucial signaling cascades that promote cell proliferation, survival, and metabolism. Therefore, FGFs and their receptors are often dysregulated in human diseases, including cancer, to sustain proliferation and rewire metabolism.

Antiproton-proton partial-wave analysis below 925 MeV/c

open access: yes, 1994
A partial-wave analysis of all antiproton-proton scattering data below 925 MeV/c antiproton laboratory momentum is presented. The method used is adapted from the Nijmegen phase-shift analyses of pp and np scattering data.

Spatiotemporal and quantitative analyses of phosphoinositides – fluorescent probe—and mass spectrometry‐based approaches

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Fluorescent probes allow dynamic visualization of phosphoinositides in living cells (left), whereas mass spectrometry provides high‐sensitivity, isomer‐resolved quantitation (right). Their synergistic use captures complementary aspects of lipid signaling. This review illustrates how these approaches reveal the spatiotemporal regulation and quantitative
