Severity of periodontitis and risk of ischemic stroke: A systematic review and meta‐analysis
Abstract Background Periodontitis is a prevalent chronic inflammatory disease with a systemic inflammatory burden and is implicated with vascular pathology. This systematic review and meta‐analysis evaluates the association between varying severities of periodontitis and ischemic stroke with various diagnostic criteria.

Quorum sensing in Porphyromonas gingivalis and oral microbial interactions: a scoping review
ObjectivePorphyromonas gingivalis, a major periodontal pathogen, interacts with other oral microbes through quorum sensing, enhancing its growth and virulence, which contributes to periodontitis.

Nonthermal plasma approaches for combating implant‐associated infections: A compendious review
Implant‐associated infections pose serious clinical challenges. Non‐thermal plasma (NTP) modifications overcome this bottleneck in distinct ways relative to traditional sterilization methods. Gas‐phase plasmas generate highly energetic species, UV radiation and reactive oxygen/nitrogen species (RONS), which alter the implant surface properties.

Research progress on the potential mechanisms of Porphyromonas gingivalis in promoting Alzheimer’s disease [PDF]
Alzheimer’s disease (AD), a common neurodegenerative disease, has been linked to periodontitis, especially Porphyromonas gingivalis (P. gingivalis) infection. This review summarizes the potential mechanisms and pathways through which P.

Abstract Purpose Infectious keratitis (IK) is a vision‐threatening condition with diverse microbial aetiologies, yet conventional culture‐based diagnostics often have limited sensitivity. We investigated whether 16S/18S rRNA amplicon‐based next‐generation sequencing (NGS) can enhance aetiological assessment when used alongside standard microbiological ...

ABSTRACT Background Periodontitis is a prevalent chronic inflammatory condition that frequently co‐occurs with systemic chronic diseases. Although older adults experience a high burden of both periodontitis and chronic conditions, the extent to which age‐specific evidence has been synthesised remains unclear.

ABSTRACT Introduction Preventive dental care is vital for individuals with bleeding disorders to reduce the need for potentially invasive procedures. Although dental care is a mandated function of U.S. federally supported hemophilia treatment centers (HTCs), access to dental care is widely variable.
