Superionicity and Polymorphism in Calcium Fluoride at High Pressure

open access: yes, 2014
We present a combined experimental and computational first-principles study of the superionic and structural properties of CaF2 at high P-T conditions. We observe an anomalous superionic behavior in the low-P fluorite phase that consists in a decrease of

EIF1AX Nucleolar Condensates Enhance Susceptibilities for the Management of Endometrial Cancer

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This schematic illustrates the mechanism of a senolytic strategy in endometrial cancer. EIF1AX facilitates the incorporation of DDX21 into nucleolar condensates, an event that suppresses rDNA transcription and induces cellular senescence. The compound 2,5‐MeC exploits this pathway by promoting EIF1AX nucleolar translocation and condensate formation ...

Annexin A13 Protects Against Acute Kidney Injury by Inactivating TGF‐β/Smad3 Signaling

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ANXA13 is negatively regulated by Smad3 and exerts its protective role in AKI by inactivating TGF‐β/Smad3 signaling and Smad3‐p21 cell cycle arrest pathway through binding to TβRI, inhibiting the interaction between TβRI and TβRII, thereby suppressing TβRI phosporylation.

Expression of p53 and p21 in bladder carcinoma of Iraqi patients

open access: yesJournal of Biological Research, 2019
Bladder cancer is an abnormal cellular multiplication without control arising from the urinary bladder urothelium. Cells cycle is a strictly controlled process regulated by protein complexes composed of cyclins and cyclin-dependent kinases and also by ...

Pre‐Encoded IFN‐I Sensitivity Exacerbates Memory T Cell Senescence in Solid Tumors

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Type I interferon (IFN‐I) signaling promotes p21‐dependent cell cycle arrest in senescent tumor‐specific memory T cells, resulting in poor proliferative responses and solid tumor regression during cancer vaccination. Conversely, IFNα/β receptor blockade reinvigorates T cell proliferation to regress solid tumors and is more effective with increasing ...

CDK4/6 inhibition in cancer: the cell cycle splicing connection

open access: yesMolecular & Cellular Oncology, 2019
Cyclin-dependent kinase −4 and −6 (CDK4/6) inhibitors are currently being assessed in clinical trials for the treatment of many cancers including melanoma.

Chiral symmetry breaking with a non-enhanced ghost sector

open access: yes, 2011
We study chiral symmetry breaking using the quark gap equation supplemented with the infrared-finite gluon propagator and ghost dressing function obtained from large-volume lattice simulations.

Vitamin D Regulates Olfactory Function via Dual Transcriptional and mTOR‐Dependent Translational Control of Synaptic Proteins

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Vitamin D (VitD) modulates olfactory function by remodeling dendrodendritic synapses in tufted cells through vitamin D receptor‐dependent transcriptional and translational mechanisms. VitD regulates synaptic protein translation partially via mTOR signaling.

DEL‐1 is an Endogenous Senolytic Protein that Inhibits Senescence‐Associated Bone Loss

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Senescent bone marrow stromal cells accumulate in the aging bone microenvironment, promoting bone degeneration. DEL‐1, an endogenous secreted protein, acts as a natural senolytic that selectively eliminates these cells. By engaging a β3 integrin/CD73/adenosine/p38 MAPK/BCL‐2 pathway, DEL‐1 counters aging‐related bone loss, revealing promising ...
