Generation of the Cdk5 activator p25 is a memory mechanism that is affected in early Alzheimer’s disease

open access: yesFrontiers in Molecular Neuroscience, 2014
About 15 years ago it was proposed that generation of the truncated protein p25 contributes to toxicity in Alzheimer's disease (AD). p25 is a calcium-dependent degradation product of p35, the principal activator of cyclin-dependent kinase 5 (Cdk5).

Impact of support characteristics and preparation method on photocatalytic activity of TiO2/ZSM-5/silica gel composite photocatalyst [PDF]

open access: yesRoyal Society Open Science, 2018
Titanium dioxide (Degussa P25) was supported onto two different aluminosilicate zeolites (ZSM-5) and anchored on three silica gels using two separate preparation methods to study the effect of the catalyst components and the preparation method on the ...

Gamma Radiation Synthesis of Ag/P25 Nanocomposites for Efficient Photocatalytic Degradation of Organic Contaminant

open access: yesNanomaterials, 2023
Titanium dioxide (TiO2) has garnered significant attention among various photocatalysts, whereas its photocatalytic activity is limited by its wide bandgap and inefficient charge separation, making the exploration of new strategies to improve its ...

Pharmacological Inhibition of FKBP51 Mitigates Early Life Adversity‐Induced Social Deficits in Male Mice

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Early life adversity triggers persistent social subordination and brain‐wide molecular dysregulation. Pharmacological inhibition of the stress‐mediator FKBP51 during the adversity period prevents these long‐term deficits and restores normative social hierarchy.

Prenatal p25-activated Cdk5 induces pituitary tumorigenesis through MCM2 phosphorylation-mediated cell proliferation

open access: yesNeoplasia: An International Journal for Oncology Research
Aberrant expression of cyclin-dependent kinase 5 (Cdk5) has been reported in pituitary adenomas. However, the role of Cdk5 in the tumorigenesis remains unclear. We show that prenatal p25-activated Cdk5 phosphorylates minichromosome maintenance protein 2 (

Natively unfolded tubulin polymerization promoting protein TPPP/p25 is a common marker of alpha-synucleinopathies

open access: yesNeurobiology of Disease, 2004
The novel basic, heat-stable tubulin polymerization promoting protein TPPP/p25 is associated with microtubules in vitro and can induce the formation of aberrant microtubule assemblies.

Enhancement of photocatalytic activity by Z-scheme heterojunction of CaTiO3 nanocuboids and P25

open access: yesEnergy Reports, 2023
Photocatalysis is an interesting approach to convert solar energy into chemical energy. To achieve efficient energy conversion, a mixed photocatalyst of CaTiO3 nanocuboids and commercial anatase TiO2 nanoparticles P25 were used.

Food inflation pass‐through from agricultural imports in a small open economy

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Agricultural Economics, EarlyView.
Abstract This paper develops a new framework for quantifying cost pass‐through in a small open economy by estimating firm‐level markup responses to agricultural import price shocks. We show theoretically that markup adjustments depend on firms' reliance on imported inputs and demand curvature, generating heterogeneous inflationary effects across firm ...

Computational Simulations Identified Two Candidate Inhibitors of Cdk5/p25 to Abrogate Tau-associated Neurological Disorders

open access: yesComputational and Structural Biotechnology Journal, 2019
Deregulation of Cdk5 is a hallmark in neurodegenerative diseases and its complex with p25 forms Cdk5/p25, thereby causes severe neuropathological insults.
