Genetic and hypoxic alterations of the microRNA-210-ISCU1/2 axis promote iron-sulfur deficiency and pulmonary hypertension [PDF]
Iron–sulfur (Fe‐S) clusters are essential for mitochondrial metabolism, but their regulation in pulmonary hypertension (PH) remains enigmatic. We demonstrate that alterations of the miR‐210‐ISCU1/2 axis cause Fe‐S deficiencies in vivo and promote PH.

High‐Dose Calcium Channel Blockade in PH: Old Lessons, New Tools
ABSTRACT This letter to the editor revisits the origins of high‐dose calcium channel blocker use in pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH) in light of bedside vasoreactivity testing, reaffirming its present‐day relevance for a selected subgroup. Integrating historical insights with modern tools, the authors highlight: the “responder” phenotype as an ...

Pathogenic Role of mTORC1 and mTORC2 in Pulmonary Hypertension. [PDF]
Concentric lung vascular wall thickening due to enhanced proliferation of pulmonary arterial smooth muscle cells is an important pathological cause for the elevated pulmonary vascular resistance reported in patients with pulmonary arterial hypertension ...

Eplerenone attenuates pathological pulmonary vascular rather than right ventricular remodeling in pulmonary arterial hypertension [PDF]
BACKGROUND: Aldosterone is a mineralocorticoid hormone critically involved in arterial blood pressure regulation. Although pharmacological aldosterone antagonism reduces mortality and morbidity among patients with severe left-sided heart failure, the ...

Mitochondria Bioenergetic Functions and Cell Metabolism Are Modulated by the Bergamot Polyphenolic Fraction [PDF]
open10noThe bergamot polyphenolic fraction (BPF) was evaluated in the F1FO-ATPase activity of swine heart mitochondria. In the presence of a concentration higher than 50 µg/mL BPF, the ATPase activity of F1FO-ATPase, dependent on the natural cofactor Mg2+

Revolutionizing Autoimmune Research: The Role of Caveolin‐1
ABSTRACT Introduction Caveolins (Cav) include Cav‐1, Cav‐2, and Cav‐3, with Cav‐1 being the most studied due to its prominent role as a major component of plasma membrane caveolae. Cav‐1 is involved in a wide range of cellular functions and plays a key role in regulating signaling pathways related to immune responses and inflammation.
