Paeoniflorin Protects Caenorhabditis elegans from Heat Stress
Current Topics in Nutraceutical Research, 2021Paeonia lactiflora Pall., a plant of the genus Paeonia, which includes Radix paeoniae Rubra and R. paeoniae Alba has a long history in the traditional Chinese medicine for the management of a variety of ailments. These multiple therapeutic activities have been associated with paeoniflorin, an active component of the roots of R. paeoniaes.

Paeoniflorin: an antihyperlipidemic agent from Paeonia lactiflora
Fitoterapia, 2004Paeoniflorin (1), isolated from the methanol extract of Paeonia lactiflora, showed a lowering effect on cholesterol level in the experimentally-induced hyperlipidemic rats. Paeoniflorin showed a significantly lowering effect of total cholesterol, LDL and triglyceride levels compared with the control group at the dose of 200 and 400 mg/kg, p.o.

Development of Fluorescence-Linked Immunosorbent Assay for Paeoniflorin
Journal of Fluorescence, 2015In this study, we developed a fluorescent immunoassay approach to detect paeoniflorin (PF) using a fluorescently labelled monoclonal antibody. The PF-specific antibody was purified by the caprylic acid-ammonium sulfate method and protein G Sepharose 4 Fast Flow column and then labelled with fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC).

Effect of paeoniflorin on distal survival of random flaps
International Immunopharmacology, 2022Distal ischemic necrosisis a common complication of orthopedic random skin flaps surgery. Paeoniflorin, a natural compound extracted from Paeonia lactiflora, can enhances angiogenesis and alleviates excessive inflammatory response. We investigated the changes of ischemic extra-long flaps with paeoniflorin and its possible mechanism. We raised dorsal ...

Protective effect of paeoniflorin against optic nerve crush
Journal of Huazhong University of Science and Technology [Medical Sciences], 2007In order to evaluate the efficacy of traditional paeonia extract paeoniflorin against optic nerve crush, 16 Brown Norway rats were divided into two groups at random, with 8 rats in each group. In paeoniaflorin-treated group, 2 mg paeoniaflorin (total volume: 1 mL) was injected into rat's peritoneum one time a day for a period of 8 days.

Advanced achievements about neuroprotective mechanisms of paeoniflorin
China Journal of Chinese Materia Medica, 2010Paeoniflorin is one of the bioactive components of Paeonia lactiflora, a traditional Chinese herbal medicine. Some recent studies prove its distinguished neuroprotective effect. These neuroprotective mechanisms have become hot points and show closely correlated to activating adenosine A1 receptor, ameliorating the function of cholinergic nerve ...

[Progressive studies of paeoniflorin].
Zhongguo Zhong yao za zhi = Zhongguo zhongyao zazhi = China journal of Chinese materia medica, 2009Paeoniflorin is one of the bioactive components of Paeonia lactiflora, a traditional Chinese herbal medicine. It is the main monoterpene glucoside isolated from the P. lactiflora in 1963. Since then, researchers have found that paeoniflorin has multifold pharmacological effects.

Generation of regulatory dendritic cells after treatment with paeoniflorin
Immunologic Research, 2015Regulatory dendritic cells are a potential therapeutic tool for assessing a variety of immune overreaction diseases. Paeoniflorin, a bioactive glucoside extracted from the Chinese herb white paeony root, has been shown to be effective at inhibiting the maturation and immunostimulatory function of murine bone marrow-derived dendritic cells.

Metabolism of paeoniflorin by rat intestinal flora in vitro
China Journal of Chinese Materia Medica, 2016In order to clarify the effect of intestinal flora on the absorption and metabolism of paeoniflorin in vivo, the metabolism of paeoniflorin by rat intestinal flora was studied under the in vitro anaerobic condition. Paeoniflorin was incubated with rat anaerobic intestinal flora for 48 h, and UPLC was used to detect the changes of paeoniflorin at ...
