Paeoniflorin attenuates allergic inflammation in asthmatic mice
International Immunopharmacology, 2015Paeoniflorin (PF), one of the major active ingredients of Chinese peony, has demonstrated anti-inflammatory and immunoregulatory effects. However, it has remained unclear whether PF treatment can inhibit allergic inflammation in asthma. In this study, we evaluated the effects of PF on pulmonary function and airway inflammation in asthmatic mice.

Paeoniflorin suppresses IL-33 production by macrophages
Immunopharmacology and Immunotoxicology, 2020Objective: Interleukin (IL)-33 has been attracting more and more attention as a new member of theIL-1 cytokine family in recent years. However, the underlying mechanisms referred to the regulation of endogenous IL-33 production are not fully illustrated.

Development of Fluorescence-Linked Immunosorbent Assay for Paeoniflorin
Journal of Fluorescence, 2015In this study, we developed a fluorescent immunoassay approach to detect paeoniflorin (PF) using a fluorescently labelled monoclonal antibody. The PF-specific antibody was purified by the caprylic acid-ammonium sulfate method and protein G Sepharose 4 Fast Flow column and then labelled with fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC).

Paeoniflorin suppresses ferroptosis after traumatic brain injury by antagonizing P53 acetylation.
PhytomedicineBACKGROUND Traumatic brain injury (TBI) could induce multiple forms of cell death, ferroptosis, a novel form of cell death distinct from apoptosis and autophagy, plays an important role in disease progression in TBI.

The interactions of paeoniflorin and veratrine on isolated rat atria
Journal of Ethnopharmacology, 1997In this study, we attempted to identify the interactions and mechanisms between veratrine and paeoniflorin on isolated rat atria. Paeoniflorin alone showed no effect on the rat atria. Veratrine increased the atrial contraction and induced arrhythmia at 1 x 10(-5) g/ml. Veratrine could directly induce contraction and elicit tetanic contraction at 1 x 10(
