Paeoniflorin ameliorates oxaliplatin-induced peripheral neuropathy via inhibiting neuroinflammation through influence on gut microbiota.

European Journal of Pharmacology
Oxaliplatin (OXA)-induced peripheral neuropathy (OIPN) is a severe side effect that greatly limits OXA clinical use and threatens patients' life and health. Paeoniflorin exhibits extensive anti-inflammatory and neuroprotective effects, but whether it can

[Determination of paeoniflorin in Huoxuezhuyu powder].

Guang pu xue yu guang pu fen xi = Guang pu, 2010
Thin-layer chromatogram was used to separate paeoniflorin from other compositions in Huoxuezhuyu powder. The content was determined by UV spectrophotometry. The mean recovery was 98.74%, and CV was 1.43%. This method could be used for other compound preparations of traditional Chinese medicines.

Investigation of the protective mechanism of paeoniflorin against hyperlipidemia by an integrated metabolomics and gut microbiota strategy.

Journal of Nutritional Biochemistry
The prevalence of hyperlipidemia is gradually increasing globally, posing a serious threat to public health. Previous studies have shown that paeoniflorin (PF) effectively improved abnormal lipid metabolism in atherosclerotic mice.

Paeoniflorin acts as a liver X receptor agonist

Journal of Asian Natural Products Research, 2013
Paeoniflorin is one of the active ingredients of Paeonia lactiflora Pall., a novel traditional herbal medicine exerting pharmacological effects including antihyperlipidemic, neuroprotective, and anti-hepatofibrosis effects. Liver X receptor (LXR) acts as a ligand-activated transcription factor to exhibit antihyperlipidemic and neuroprotective effects ...
