Nanodots from Palm Kernel Cake [PDF]

open access: yesE3S Web of Conferences
Palm kernel cake (PKC) is the remaining of a palm (Elaeis guineensis) kernel after its oil is separated. Oversupply of this biomass could become an environmental problem. Meanwhile, its moist property makes it suitable for a hydrothermal carbonization to

Effect of palm kernel cake and deoiled palm kernel cake on the performance of cockerels

open access: yesNigerian Journal of Animal Production, 2021
Forty (40), thirteen weeks old cockerels were allocated to five dietary treatments after balancing for weight. The eight birds on each dietary treatment were replicated four times, such that two birds served as a replicate. In diet 1 (control) contain 0% Palm Kernel Cake (KPC) and Deoiled Palm Kernel Cake (DOC).

The comparative digestibility of palm kernel cake, extracted palm kernel meal and undecorticated cottonseed cake. [PDF]

open access: yesThe Journal of Agricultural Science, 1917
The interest aroused recently in the utilisation as feeding-stuffs of the residual cake or meal remaining from the extraction of oil from palm kernels has directed attention to the scantiness of our information as to the digestibility of these products.

COMPARATIVE UTILIZATION OF SHEA BUTTER CAKE AND PALM KERNEL CAKE BY BROILER CHICKENS

open access: yesNigerian Journal of Animal Production, 2021
The utilization of Shea butter cake (SBC), a by-product of fat extraction from sheabutter nuts (Butyrospennum paradoxum) was compared with Palm Kernel Cake (PKC) to establish its potential as a poultry feedstuff. A 2 x 3 factorial experiment combining two factors, SBC and PKC at three levels of inclusion (5%, 10% and 15%) was designed.

Supercritical Fluid Extraction of Palm Kernel Oil from Palm Kernel Cake [PDF]

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Food Technology, 2012
Supercritical fluid carbon dioxide (SC-CO2) at pressure 19.8 MPa and temperature 51°C with different amount of ethanol (0-100 mL) was studied the extraction of palm kernel oil from palm kernel cake. The amount of oil produced from SFE and Modified ethanol-CO2 are proportional to the amount of ethanol.

Determination of Shell Content in Palm Kernel Cake [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of AOAC INTERNATIONAL, 1996
Abstract A method for determining shell in palm kernel cake (PKC) is described. This simple and rapid method requires little pretreatment compared with the method currently used in PKC trade, in which the sample undergoes defatting, acid and alkali digestion, and washing, before a chloroform-alcohol solution is used to separate the ...
