SBP‐Box Transcription Factor JcSPL9 Regulates Both Seed Yield and Oil Content in the Biofuel Plant Jatropha curcas

open access: yesPlant Biotechnology Journal, Volume 24, Issue 5, Page 3125-3140, May 2026.
ABSTRACT Jatropha curcas is a promising feedstock for biodiesel and bio‐jet fuels production; however, its seed yield is constrained by limited inflorescences. SPL9 is a member of the SBP‐box gene family that promotes the juvenile‐to‐adult phase transition.

Lipase Catalyzed Transesterification of Tung and Palm Oil for Biodiesel [PDF]

open access: yesLinköping Electronic Conference Proceedings, 2011
The tung oil and palm oil were subjected to enzymatic transesterification. Immobilized lipase (Novozyme 435) was used at 10 % w/v vs. oil. The reactions were conducted at 40C to 60C with methanol and ethanol at a molar ratio of 1:3 for 24 h ours. Temperature was found critical for the conversion efficiencies.

Integrated and closed‐loop biorefinery strategies for efficient waste valorization and biofuel production

open access: yesThe Canadian Journal of Chemical Engineering, Volume 104, Issue 4, Page 1656-1676, April 2026.
Abstract Advancements in biofuel production technologies are essential for reducing global dependence on fossil fuels and addressing their overexploitation. Many valuable components of biomass, such as cellulose, hemicellulose, and lignin, remain underused in traditional biorefineries, which typically rely on a single feedstock to produce a primary ...
