When insurers retreat: The governance of wildfire disasters and how FAIR plans allocate climate risk

Abstract As wildfire risk accelerates private insurer retreat, state‐governed FAIR Plans increasingly serve as the primary coverage available in hazard‐prone areas. This paper analyzes these residual markets as instruments of disaster governance, arguing that their design reflects distributive political choices regarding risk allocation.

Humanin ameliorates diabetes‐induced testicular damage in a streptozotocin‐induced mouse model

Abstract Diabetes mellitus is a major metabolic disorder closely associated with oxidative stress and male reproductive dysfunction. Humanin, a mitochondria‐derived peptide, has been reported to exert cytoprotective, anti‐apoptotic and antioxidant effects in various disease models; however, its role in diabetes‐induced testicular damage remains unclear.
