High‐Protein Diet Exacerbates Insulin Resistance via the JNK/IKKβ‐IRS‐1 Pathway

A high‐protein diet worsens insulin resistance and β‐cell dysfunction in both normal and T2D mice by increasing hepatic inflammation and suppressing IRS‐1 signalling. Limiting excessive protein intake may help prevent or delay the progression of type 2 diabetes.
