Successful medical management of eclampsia in a canine 9 weeks postpartum

Abstract A 2‐year‐old, entire, female Golden Retriever/Great Pyrenees mix presented with acute lethargy, ptyalism and hyperthermia approximately 9 weeks postpartum. It had whelped 11 puppies, and clinical signs began suddenly at weaning with lethargy and excessive salivation.

Splenic and pancreatic abscessation with vascular abnormalities in a dog

Abstract A 3‐year‐old male neutered Collie was presented with gastrointestinal signs, lethargy and weight loss, following a history of pancreatitis. Computed tomography revealed large, coalescing nodules in both the pancreas and spleen, and abdominal effusion. Analysis of effusion revealed degenerative neutrophils with intracellular bacteria.

Dialysis‐enhanced EVMP effectively maintains biochemical homeostasis, potentially mitigating metabolic stress and extending perfusion duration. Functional outcomes varied depending on the organ type, with the most pronounced benefits observed in cardiac perfusion.

Is there a role for cannabidiol in obesity, metabolic syndrome and binge eating?

Cannabidiol (CBD) is one of the most abundant phytocannabinoids isolated from the Cannabis sativa plant. CBD is a lipophilic, non‐intoxicating substance that differently from Δ9‐tetrahydrocannabinol (Δ9‐THC) does not present the typical profile of a drug of abuse.
