Pancreatin

Drug and Therapeutics Bulletin, 1968
Pancreatin is an aqueous extract of fresh beef or hog pancreas. It has varying degrees of proteolytic, lipolytic and diastatic activity depending on how far it has been purified. The enzymes of pancreatic extracts are most active at 50°C at a pH between 7.5 and 9.0. When dried they remain stable indefinitely under ordinary storage conditions.

STABILITY OF ORAL PANCREATIN POWDERS

Medical Journal of Australia, 1979
In-vitro study which duplicated the conditions to which the orally administered pancreatin is exposed in the human stomach showed that the oral administration of pancreatin in uncoated powder form could result in a substantial loss of enzymic activity. Therefore, it may not be an efficacious replacement therapy in pancreatic disorders where pancreatin ...

Pancreatin with High Enzymatic Activity*, †

Journal of the American Pharmaceutical Association (Scientific ed.), 1951
A simple method of preparing pancreatin with high lipase content is outlined. An analysis, by 50 independent workers, of the pancreatin prepared by this method shows that it contains also over three times the amount of trypsin and of amylase required by the U. S. P. Thus it is an easily prepared “triple strength” pancreatin of high lipase content.

Standardization of Pancreatin

Journal of Korean Pharmaceutical Sciences, 2003
Pancreatin is a enzyme mixture breaking down carbohydrates, proteins and lipids. Most pancreatin used in Korea is imported from foreign countries. However, guideline of each country for pancreatin produced from each country is different. Therefore, guideline for pancreatin imported from several countries, such as Europe, Japan and America, it is ...
