Yinchenhao Decoction Protects Against Acute Liver Injury in Mice With Biliary Acute Pancreatitis by Regulating the Gut Microflora–Bile Acids–Liver Axis

open access: yesGastroenterology Research and Practice
Conclusions: These findings imply a potential link between gut microbiota dysbiosis and intrahepatic cholestasis in BAP-ALI mice and suggest that YCHD treatment may confer protection against BAP-ALI via the gut microflora–bile acids–liver axis.

Mechanisms of Pancreatic Injury Induced by Basic Amino Acids Differ Between L-Arginine, L-Ornithine, and L-Histidine

open access: yesFrontiers in Physiology, 2019
Pancreatic acinar cells require high rates of amino acid uptake for digestive enzyme synthesis, but excessive concentrations can trigger acute pancreatitis (AP) by mechanisms that are not well understood.

Targeting Macrophage Migration Inhibitory Factor in Acute Pancreatitis and Pancreatic Cancer

open access: yesFrontiers in Pharmacology, 2021
Macrophage migration inhibitory factor (MIF) is a pleiotropic cytokine implicated in the pathogenesis of inflammation and cancer. It is produced by various cells and circulating MIF has been identified as a biomarker for a range of diseases ...

Microneedles From Shape‐Preserving Crosslinked Poly(Vinyl Alcohol) Hydrogels: Minimising Interference in Transdermal Proteomics

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
Hydrogel‐forming microneedle patches are developed using shape‐preserving PVA‐PVP hydrogels, with and without chitosan, for minimally invasive transdermal protein biomarker sampling. The optimised patches enable efficient interstitial fluid uptake and proteomic analysis, while minimising interference.

UCP2 Upregulates ACSL3 to Enhance Lipid Droplet Release from Acinar Cells and Modulates the Sirt1/Smad3 Pathway to Promote Macrophage‐to‐Myofibroblast Transition in Chronic Pancreatitis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
These findings suggest that UCP2 promotes LD formation and release in acinar cells by upregulating ACSL3 expression. This alteration in the local lipid metabolic environment indirectly drives the MMT process. Additionally, UCP2 may regulate the acetylation of Smad3 through Sirt1, enhancing its nuclear activity and activating the TGF‐β/ Smad3 signaling ...
