Application of new optical load cells for in-line measurement of pantograph-catenary contact force
SPIE Proceedings, 2013The contact force between pantograph and catenary is a parameter needed to evaluate the quality of the dynamic interaction of the two systems. The in-line measurements of this parameter have always been very hard due to the particular work condition of pantograph and catenary.

In this article, the static stresses in a catenary and its vibration modes are calculated by establishing the FEM model of the catenary with Euler–Bernoulli beam elements. The mode shapes of the catenary obtained are considered as the generalized variables which are used in the establishment of the motion equations of the catenary system.

Active nonlinear partial-state feedback control of contacting force for a pantograph–catenary system
ISA Transactions, 2019In this paper, a nonlinear partial-state feedback control is designed for a 3-DOF pantograph-catenary system by using backstepping approach, such that the contacting force of the closed-loop system is capable of tracking its reference profile. In the control design, the pantograph-catenary model is transformed into a triangular form, facilitating the ...

A robust control of contact force of pantograph-catenary for the high-speed train
2013 European Control Conference (ECC), 2013In this paper, a simplified model to three degree of freedom (3-DOF) of the pantograph-catenary (PAC) system is represented. A robust control of contact force between the pantograph and the catenary for the high-speed trains using the fuzzy sliding mode controller and the additional compensator is presented.
