Involvement of ras p2I in Neurotrophin-induced Response of Sensory, but Not Sympathetic Neurons [PDF]
Little is known about the signal transduction mechanisms involved in the response to neurotrophins and other neurotrophic factors in neurons, beyond the activation of the tyrosine kinase activity of the neurotrophin receptors belonging to the trk family.

This Finnish registry study shows that concomitant occupational asthma and rhinitis are common in patients with occupational contact urticaria or protein contact dermatitis, often sharing the same exposure. When evaluating occupational immediate allergy, both skin and airway symptoms should be considered.

Role of Papain-Like Cysteine Proteases in Plant Development
Papain-like cysteine proteases (PLCP) are prominent peptidases found in most living organisms. In plants, PLCPs was divided into nine subgroups based on functional and structural characterization.

In the oxygen‐induced retinopathy (OIR) mouse model, two distinct microglial subpopulations play opposing roles: highly glycolytic microglia (HGM) promote neovascular formation via Pkm2, while Mrc1/CD206‐positive phagocytosis‐associated microglia (PAM) facilitate its regression.

Investigations on the emulsifying properties of egg white protein : a thesis presented in partial fulfilment of the requirements for the degree of Master of Food Technology at Massey University, Auckland, New Zealand [PDF]
Figures 2.2 & 2.3 were removed for copyright reasons, but Figure 2.1 remains for ease of access.Egg white proteins (EWP) have excellent foaming and gelling functional properties. However, their emulsifying properties are considered poor when compared to

Differential in vitro and in vivo effect of barley cysteine and serine protease inhibitors on phytopathogenic microorganisms [PDF]
Protease inhibitors from plants have been involved in defence mechanisms against pests and pathogens. Phytocystatins and trypsin/α-amylase inhibitors are two of the best characterized protease inhibitor families in plants.

Redox environment modulates in vitro aggregation of Ataxin‐3, the protein implicated in spinocerebellar ataxia type 3. Reducing conditions stabilize native monomers and prevent aggregation, whereas oxidative conditions promote the formation of non‐native conformers and disulfide‐linked oligomers within the Josephin domain (JD).

PEG400 regulates Falcipain 2 activity through an allosteric mechanism
Falcipain‐2 can potentially be leveraged as a drug target due to its critical role as a haemoglobinase during the intra‐erythrocytic stage of Plasmodium falciparum. Here, we investigate the regulation of the proteolytic and haemoglobinase activity of falcipain‐2 in the presence of polyethylene glycol.
