THE CHOICE OF CORPORA FOR CONTRASTIVE ANALYSIS: A CASE STUDY OF THE ENGLISH CAUSATIVE CONSTRUCTION WITH “ENCOURAGE”AND ITS UKRAINIAN COUNTERPART

open access: yesІноземна філологія
Modern corpus-based contrastive studies brought attention to the choice of tertium comparationis in contrastive research. This problem can be overcome by using a bidirectional parallel corpus, although there are concerns about “translation eff ects ...

Fosl2 Regulates FSH‐Dependent Follicle Maturation Through Feedback Amplification of FSH/FSHR Signaling

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study identifies a FOSL2‐driven positive feedback loop that amplifies FSH/FSHR signaling. During FSH‐dependent follicle maturation, FSH induces Fosl2 expression via the cAMP‐PKA‐CREB cascade. FOSL2 in turn binds the promoters of Fshr and estrogen‐biosynthesis genes to enhance their transcription, thereby increasing Fshr mRNA level and amplifying ...

Organoid Brain‐Machine‐Interface Devices for Central Nervous System Repair

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
We envision organoid brain‐machine‐interface (Organoid‐BMI) devices as new biohybrid bidirectional communication pathways to connect the human CNS and the external world for personalized CNS repair and regeneration. ABSTRACT Central nervous system (CNS) repair and regeneration suffer from tremendous clinical challenges due to current limitations in ...

Parallel Corpora for the Biomedical Domain.

open access: yes, 2018
A vast amount of biomedical information is available in the form of scientific literature and government-authored patient information documents. While English is the most widely used language in many of these sources, there is a need to provide access to health information in languages other than English.

PhosSight: A Unified Deep Learning Framework Boosting and Accelerating Phosphoproteome Identification to Enable Biological Discoveries

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
PhosSight is a unified deep‐learning framework for phosphoproteome identification, featured by a phosphorylation‐aware detectability predictor. It improves identification sensitivity in DDA through deep re‐localization and rescoring, accelerates DIA searches by detectability‐guided spectral library pruning, and expands phosphoproteome coverage to ...

Parallel corpora in focus

open access: yes, 2019
This article provides an overview of the development of parallel corpora over the past three decades. The corpus-based approach has transformed linguistic research since the 1990s, particularly with the emergence of parallel corpora, which have proven indispensable in both linguistic and computational fields.
