Targeting transcription factors associated with hemoglobinopathies: Lessons from successful interventions and implications for cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This review summarizes the transcription factors, repressive chromatin‐modifying complexes, and epigenetic mechanisms that control fetal hemoglobin repression. Notably, many regulators of γ‐globin silencing also function in transcriptional and epigenetic networks that drive cancer, highlighting opportunities to translate advances in hemoglobinopathy ...

Resource analyses for parallel and distributed coordination [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
<p>Predicting the resources that are consumed by a program component is crucial for many parallel or distributed systems. In this context, the main resources of interest are execution time, space and communication/synchronisation costs.

A multi-agent scheduling problem for two identical parallel machines to minimize total tardiness time and makespan

open access: yesAdvances in Mechanical Engineering, 2018
We study an agent-based scheduling problem of two identical parallel machines: P 2 | Co | ∑ T A , C max B . The machines and tasks are regarded as agents.

Spatial biology in cancer epigenetics

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Spatial epigenomics combines molecular profiling with tissue architecture to reveal how gene regulation is organized within intact tissues. In cancer, these technologies uncover the mechanisms driving tumor heterogeneity and microenvironmental interactions, opening new opportunities for biomarker discovery and precision medicine.

Computation of Optimal Current References for Flux-weakening of Multi-Phase Synchronous Machines [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Multi-phase synchronous machines are more and more used in specific applications where high power density, low bus voltage, wide speed range and fault-tolerant capabilities are required. Due to the high number of degrees of freedom, multi-phase machines

Switching Techniques for Minimizing Current Measurement Noise in Integrated Single Shunt Power Conversion System With Common DC Link

open access: yesIEEE Access
This paper suggests a technique to reduce noise in DC current measurements within an integrated power conversion system, which includes a three-phase inverter and a full-bridge converter both utilizing single shunt resistors as current sensors. Typically,

The Batch Scheduling Model for Dynamic Multi-Item, Multi-Level Production in an Assembly Job Shop with Parallel Machines

open access: yesInternational Journal of Technology, 2015
Most classical scheduling approaches deal with single products, single machines, and static manufacturing environments. In real-world manufacturing systems, however, scheduling can be assigned for multi-item production on multimachines in a dynamic ...

Somatostatin receptor 4 (SSTR4) is a tumor suppressor in cutaneous and head & neck squamous cell carcinomas

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study identifies somatostatin receptor 4 (Sstr4) as a critical tumor suppressor against skin and head/neck cancers (HNSCC, cSCC, and BCC). The loss of Sstr4 removes a check on cell growth, causing hyperactivation of the MAPK‐ERK signaling pathway (↑).

Parallel Enclosing Rectangle on SIMD Machines

open access: yes, 2014
In this paper, we present a parallel algorithm for finding the smallest enclosing rectangle for a set of n points. The parallel algorithm can be generally implemented on mesh--connected and cube--connected SIMD computers with the time complexity O( p n ...
