Experimental Evaluation of 100Cr6 Steel Microindented Surfaces Under Lubricated Nonconformal Point Contacts

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
The tribological behavior of 100Cr6 steel spheres textured via Vickers microindentation is evaluated under lubricated sliding by varying both dimple size and density. Fine and dense textures significantly reduce friction across all lubrication regimes, while large dimples increase it.

Carboxylic‐Acid Functionalized Multiwalled Carbon Nanotube‐Alkane‐Based Resistive Temperature Sensor for Cold Chain Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study presents a reversible temperature sensor with high switching ratio, ∼103. The device is fabricated using PET‐ITO and carbon nanotube dispersions in alkane. Considering its application in cold chain logistics, a proof‐of‐concept with LED is showcased. Thus, a temperature drop below the threshold temperature (crystallization temperature of the

A Static Balancing Method for Variable Payloads by Combination of a Counterweight and Spring and Its Application as a Surgical Platform

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2019
Stackable mechanism architecture has demonstrated effective gravity-balancing over entire workspaces. Adjustable balancing is required when balancing is broken due to changing the payload at the distal end of a mechanism.

Optimization based Trajectory Planning of Mobile Cable-Driven Parallel Robots

open access: yesIEEE/RJS International Conference on Intelligent RObots and Systems, 2019
A Mobile Cable-Driven Parallel Robot (MCDPR) is composed of a classical Cable-Driven Parallel Robot (CDPR) carried by multiple mobile bases. The additional mobilities due the motion of the mobile bases allow such systems to autonomously modify their ...

Towards Defect Phase Diagrams: From Research Data Management to Automated Workflows

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A research data management infrastructure is presented for the systematic integration of heterogeneous experimental and simulation data required for defect phase diagrams. The approach combines openBIS with a companion application for large‐object storage, automated metadata extraction, provenance tracking and federated data access, thereby supporting ...

Kinematic modeling of hybrid parallel serial five-axis machine tool [PDF]

open access: yesFME Transactions, 2013
Compared with serial structured machine tools and robots, parallel kinematic machine tools and robots have many advantages. Many different topologies of parallel mechanisms with 3-6 DOF have been used.
