Recent Decisions [PDF]

open access: yes, 1946
Many inverse problems can be described by a PDE model with unknown parameters that need to be calibrated based on measurements related to its solution.

Effects of detector efficiency mismatch on security of quantum cryptosystems

open access: yes, 2007
We suggest a type of attack on quantum cryptosystems that exploits variations in detector efficiency as a function of a control parameter accessible to an eavesdropper.

Time after time – circadian clocks through the lens of oscillator theory

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Oscillator theory bridges physics and circadian biology. Damped oscillators require external drivers, while limit cycles emerge from delayed feedback and nonlinearities. Coupling enables tissue‐level coherence, and entrainment aligns internal clocks with environmental cues.

Three‐vector model‐free predictive control for permanent magnet synchronous motor

open access: yesIET Power Electronics, 2023
A three‐vector model‐free predictive control (TV‐MFPC) strategy is proposed to address the problem of model predictive control systems performance degradation caused by parameter mismatch and inverter dead‐zone.

Mechanisms of Zero-Lag Synchronization in Cortical Motifs [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Zero-lag synchronization between distant cortical areas has been observed in a diversity of experimental data sets and between many different regions of the brain.

Adenosine‐to‐inosine editing of miR‐200b‐3p is associated with the progression of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
A‐to‐I editing of miRNAs, particularly miR‐200b‐3p, contributes to HGSOC progression by enhancing cancer cell proliferation, migration and 3D growth. The edited form is linked to poorer patient survival and the identification of novel molecular targets.

Gut microbiota diversity is prognostic in metastatic hormone receptor‐positive breast cancer patients receiving chemotherapy and immunotherapy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In this exploratory study, we investigated the relationship between the gut microbiota and outcome in patients with metastatic hormone receptor‐positive breast cancer, treated in a randomized clinical trial with chemotherapy alone or chemotherapy in combination with immune checkpoint blockade.

Digital Calibration for Gain, Time Skew, and Bandwidth Mismatch in Under-Sampling Time-Interleaved System

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2022
This paper presents an all-digital background calibration method for gain, time skew, and bandwidth mismatch in M-channel under-sampling time-interleaved analog-to-digital converters (TI-ADCs) systems.

Parameter mismatch estimation using large deviations from synchronization

open access: yes, 2004
We present a method to determine the relative parameter mismatch in a collection of nearly identical chaotic oscillators by measuring large deviations from the synchronized state. We demonstrate our method with an ensemble of slightly different circle maps.

Riddling in the presence of small parameter mismatch

open access: yesIzvestiya VUZ. Applied Nonlinear Dynamics, 2003
Riddling bifurcation leads to the loss of chaos synchronization in coupled identical systems. We discuss here the manifestation of the riddling bifurcation for the case of a small parameter mismaich between coupled systems. We show that for slightly nonidentical coupled systems, the transverse growth of the synchronous attractor is mediated by ...
