Semiparametric Bayesian inference in multiple equation models [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
This paper outlines an approach to Bayesian semiparametric regression in multiple equation models which can be used to carry out inference in seemingly unrelated regressions or simultaneous equations models with nonparametric components.

Exercise Interventions in Children, Adolescents and Young Adults With Paediatric Bone Tumours—A Systematic Review

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Bone tumours present significant challenges for affected patients, as multimodal therapy often leads to prolonged physical limitations. This is particularly critical during childhood and adolescence, as it can negatively impact physiological development and psychosocial resilience.

Optimum filter synthesis with DPLMS method for energy reconstruction

open access: yesEuropean Physical Journal C: Particles and Fields, 2023
Optimum filters are granted increasing recognition as valuable tools for parametric estimation in many scientific and technical fields. The DPLMS method, introduced some twenty years ago, is especially effective among the synthesis algorithms since it ...

A Comparative Study of Cerebral Oxygenation During Exercise in Hemodialysis and Peritoneal Dialysis Patients

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Introduction Cognitive impairment and exercise intolerance are common in dialysis patients. Cerebral perfusion and oxygenation play a major role in both cognitive function and exercise execution; HD session per se aggravates cerebral ischemia in this population. This study aimed to compare cerebral oxygenation and perfusion at rest and in mild

Predicting the Future Burden of Renal Replacement Therapy in Türkiye Using National Registry Data and Comparative Modeling Approaches

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Chronic kidney disease is a growing public health problem worldwide, and the number of patients requiring renal replacement therapy is steadily increasing. Türkiye has experienced a similar rise in both the incidence and prevalence of renal replacement therapy over the past decades; however, national‐level projections of future ...

Cascading parametric decay coupling between whistler and ion acoustic waves: Darwin particle-in-cell simulations

open access: yesFrontiers in Astronomy and Space Sciences, 2022
We present the results of numerical studies of the whistler wave parametric decay instability in the system with the suppressed Landau damping of ion acoustic waves (IAWs) based on the self-consistent Darwin particle-in-cell (PIC) model.

Intraoperative Collection of Ascitic Fluid With Intra‐ or Postoperative Reinfusion in Ovarian Cancer: Safety and Feasibility of a Roller Pumping Method

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Introduction Patients with ovarian cancer often present with massive ascites, leading to significant protein loss during surgical procedures. Although cell‐free concentrated ascites reinfusion therapy (CART) is used in palliative settings to mitigate protein loss, its application in intraoperative settings remains unexplored.

Polyol Synthesis of Silver Nanowires: An Extensive Parametric Study

open access: yesCrystal Growth & Design, 2011
Silver nanowires have been synthesized by a polyol process. A detailed parametric study determining the relationship between final morphology of the products and temperature, injection rate, molar ratio of poly(vinylpyrrolidone) to silver nitrate, sodium chloride amount, and stirring rate is presented.

Parametric and Quantitative Extensions of Modal Transition Systems [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Modal transition systems provide a behavioral and compositional specification formalism for reactive systems. We survey two extensions of modal transition systems: parametric modal transition systems for specifications with parameters, and weighted modal transition systems for quantitative specifications.

Non-Parametric Blur Map Regression for Depth of Field Extension [PDF]

open access: yesIEEE Transactions on Image Processing, 2016
Real camera systems have a limited depth of field (DOF) which may cause an image to be degraded due to visible misfocus or too shallow DOF. In this paper, we present a blind deblurring pipeline able to restore such images by slightly extending their DOF and recovering sharpness in regions slightly out of focus.
