Ambident Reactivity in the Phenyl + NO Radical Recombination
ABSTRACT The recombination reaction of nitric oxide (NO) with radicals via its oxygen atom, rather than the more common nitrogen site, offers an intriguing pathway to the formation of oxynitrenes. The photochemical isomerization of nitroso compounds into their corresponding oxynitrenes may involve such a step.

Just as fingerprints reveal identity, spectroscopic fingerprints reveal molecular secrets. In this article, we show parts of the unique fingerprint of the sulfur–aromatic interaction. By measuring how this force alters the electronic structure of gas‐phase peptides, we provide a fundamental understanding of interactions that give insights into the ...

We report on the photophysical properties and electronic relaxation mechanisms of 4‐dimethylaminophthalimide (DMAP) and thio‐4‐dimethylaminophthalimide (SDMAP). While DMAP is fluorescent, SDMAP shows negligible fluorescence due to ultrafast intersystem crossing to a long‐lived triplet state that decays in 3.4 ± 0.05 µs.

Beam injection issues of FFAG for particle therapy
Spot scanning irradiation is a novel and powerful scheme for particle therapy. The pulsed beam structure of FFAG (Fixed Field Alternating Gradient) accelerator is suitable for the scheme. In order to form an uniform dose distribution in a target volume, Beam intensity must be modulated in sync with beam energy modulation.

Photothermal bubble: Dynamics, manipulation, and applications
As a versatile platform for bubble manipulation, photothermal techniques empower diverse operations: planar translation by scanning the laser spot, sustained periodic bouncing from competing thermal and hydrodynamic flows, and even guided 3D trajectories achieved by tailoring the heating configuration.
