Remaining useful life prognostic of power metal oxide semiconductor field effect transistor based on improved particle filter algorithm

open access: yesAdvances in Mechanical Engineering, 2017
The power metal oxide semiconductor field effect transistor is used extensively in analog circuits and digital circuits. However, it is also the highest failure rate component in the power electronics system.

A Parallel Histogram-based Particle Filter for Object Tracking on SIMD-based Smart Cameras [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
We present a parallel implementation of a histogram-based particle filter for object tracking on smart cameras based on SIMD processors. We specifically focus on parallel computation of the particle weights and parallel construction of the feature ...

Magnetometry via a double-pass continuous quantum measurement of atomic spin

open access: yes, 2009
We argue that it is possible in principle to reduce the uncertainty of an atomic magnetometer by double-passing a far-detuned laser field through the atomic sample as it undergoes Larmor precession. Numerical simulations of the quantum Fisher information

Distributional Clauses Particle Filter [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
We review the Distributional Clauses Particle Filter (DCPF), a statistical relational framework for inference in hybrid domains over time such as vision and robotics. Applications in these domains are challenging for statistical relational learning as they require dealing with continuous distributions and dynamics in real-time.

Systemic dysregulation of apolipoproteins in amyotrophic lateral sclerosis serum

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a fatal disease that damages motor neurons. This study found that people with ALS show significant changes in blood fats and the proteins that carry them. Several apolipoproteins were higher, lipid balances were altered, and normal protein–lipid relationships were disrupted.

Prediction of remaining useful life for lithium‐ion battery based on particle filter with residual resampling

open access: yesEnergy Science & Engineering, 2021
Accurate prediction of the remaining useful life for lithium‐ion battery is beneficial to prolong the life of the battery and increase safety. With the capacity degradation curve obtained from the data of the battery charge and discharge experiment, the ...

Stability properties of some particle filters

open access: yes, 2013
Under multiplicative drift and other regularity conditions, it is established that the asymptotic variance associated with a particle filter approximation of the prediction filter is bounded uniformly in time, and the nonasymptotic, relative variance ...

Large‐scale bidirectional arrayed genetic screens identify OXR1 and EMC4 as modifiers of αSynuclein aggregation

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Activation of the mitochondrial protein OXR1 increases pSyn129 αSynuclein aggregation by lowering ATP levels and altering mitochondrial membrane potential, particularly in response to MSA‐derived fibrils. In contrast, ablation of the ER protein EMC4 enhances autophagic flux and lysosomal clearance, broadly reducing α‐synuclein aggregates.

Pharmacological inhibition of the PERK pathway modulates hepatocellular carcinoma growth and immune signaling

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Pharmacological inhibition of PERK in a DEN‐induced mouse model of liver cancer does not reduce tumor burden but alters cellular stress signaling. Despite blocking PERK activity, downstream stress responses, including CHOP expression, remain active, suggesting compensatory mechanisms within the unfolded protein response that may influence tumor ...

Path storage in the particle filter

open access: yes, 2014
This article considers the problem of storing the paths generated by a particle filter and more generally by a sequential Monte Carlo algorithm. It provides a theoretical result bounding the expected memory cost by $T + C N \log N$ where $T$ is the time ...
