The paper contains algorithms for solving the problem of nonlinear filtering. The nonlinear approximate filters presented are: the extended Kalman filter (EKF), the uncented Kalman filter (UKF) and unscented Particle Filter (UPF). The flow-charts for the

Particle selectivity of filtering by C. elegans
A nematode Caenorhabditis elegans (C. elegans) is a filter feeder, which draws a suspension of bacteria and separates bacteria from the solvent by using pharyngeal pumping motions and specific mouth parts. This mechanism has not been fully understood. We

Systemic dysregulation of apolipoproteins in amyotrophic lateral sclerosis serum
Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a fatal disease that damages motor neurons. This study found that people with ALS show significant changes in blood fats and the proteins that carry them. Several apolipoproteins were higher, lipid balances were altered, and normal protein–lipid relationships were disrupted.

Distributional Clauses Particle Filter [PDF]
We review the Distributional Clauses Particle Filter (DCPF), a statistical relational framework for inference in hybrid domains over time such as vision and robotics. Applications in these domains are challenging for statistical relational learning as they require dealing with continuous distributions and dynamics in real-time.

Activation of the mitochondrial protein OXR1 increases pSyn129 αSynuclein aggregation by lowering ATP levels and altering mitochondrial membrane potential, particularly in response to MSA‐derived fibrils. In contrast, ablation of the ER protein EMC4 enhances autophagic flux and lysosomal clearance, broadly reducing α‐synuclein aggregates.

Improved Parallel Resampling Methods for Particle Filtering
Particle filter techniques are common methods used to estimate the evolving state of nonlinear, non-Gaussian time-variant systems by utilizing a periodic sequence of noisy measurements.

Pharmacological inhibition of PERK in a DEN‐induced mouse model of liver cancer does not reduce tumor burden but alters cellular stress signaling. Despite blocking PERK activity, downstream stress responses, including CHOP expression, remain active, suggesting compensatory mechanisms within the unfolded protein response that may influence tumor ...

Stochastic Definition of State-Space Equation for Particle Filtering Algorithms
Particle Filtering is a nonlinear and non-Gaussian model-based Bayesian Filtering algorithm based on Monte Carlo Sampling techniques. This filtering methodology can be used to increase the reliability and the availability of the monitored system ...
