Interpreting the effects of DNA polymerase variants at the structural level

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Using MAVISp and molecular dynamics simulations, we analyzed over 60 000 missense variants in POLE and POLD1 from ClinVar, COSMIC, cBioPortal, and saturation mutagenesis. Identified mechanistic indicators, including stability, binding, and long‐range, enable structural interpretation, providing ACMG‐like evidence for possible reclassification of VUS ...

ELECTROFILTER INSTALLATIONS USED FOR THE RETENTION OF AIRPORTED SUBSTANCES [PDF]

open access: yesFiabilitate şi Durabilitate, 2021
The burning of fossil fuels for energy purposes causes pollution of all environmental factors. If water and soil pollution is practically as significant both in the process of burning fuels and in the process of extraction and transport, air pollution ...

Circulating tumor cell viability during and after radiotherapy mirrors treatment response in cancer patients

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Radiotherapy (RT) response depends on the DNA repair capacity of tumor and host cells. We show that circulating tumor cell (CTC) counts and apoptosis rates before and after RT predict treatment response and outcome, which can be accessed via easily accessible liquid biopsy approaches. Created in BioRender. Wikman, H.

Experimental Investigation and Numerical Simulation of Aerodynamic Characteristics and Separation Efficiency of an Inertial Particle Separator at Low Altitudes [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Applied Fluid Mechanics
The low-altitude airspace plays a vital role in supporting economic development; however, the downwash airflow generated by low-altitude aircraft can entrain ground particles into the engine, posing significant risks to flight safety and operational ...

Developmental programmes drive cellular plasticity, disease progression and therapy resistance in lung adenocarcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study shows that lung adenocarcinomas exploit developmental branching morphogenesis to acquire a therapy resistant basal‐like tumour cell state. This process was found to be regulated by combined TP53 loss‐of‐function and type‐I interferon signalling, identifying a novel axis for biomarker and therapeutic target discovery.

Progress in the Application of Multidimensional Particle Property Distributions: The Separation Function

open access: yesKONA Powder and Particle Journal
In KONA 2022, the fundamentals of two- and multidimensional particle size distributions were introduced. The next question in the field of two- and multidimensional distributions addresses their application to describe a particle process, e.g ...

Flow Enabled Target Capture Halbach‐based magnetic enrichment increases circulating tumor cell capture from blood in metastatic cancer patients

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pair‐wise comparison of the CellSearch and FETCH enrichment technologies for circulating tumor cells (CTCs) from metastatic breast, prostate, and small cell lung cancer patients shows an increased capture of CTCs using FETCH enrichment. The clinical implementation of circulating tumor cells (CTCs) as a predictive tool for therapy efficacy in the ...

Modelling Shear Induced Diffusion Based Particle Segregation: A Basis for Novel Separation Technology

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2018
Shear induced diffusion (SID) based flow segregation is a technique that can be used for concentration and fractionation purposes, and it has the potential to become an economical and sustainable alternative for e.g., membrane separation.

A novel quinazolinone insulin receptor inhibitor and its synergy with an EGFR inhibitor in glucose‐driven glioblastoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The novel styrylquinazolinone‐based molecule W1B effectively suppresses glioblastoma by inhibiting IGF1R and EGFR. In high‐glucose microenvironments driving tumor resistance, W1B acts synergistically with the EGFR inhibitor dacomitinib. This combination safely blocks compensatory survival signaling in zebrafish xenograft models. Showcasing promising in
