Soft-sensor Modeling of Product Particle Size in Ball Milling Circuits Based on Fuzzy Neural Networks with Particle Swarm Optimization [PDF]
By combining particle swarm optimization algorithm (PSO) with fuzzy neural networks (FNN), a PSO fuzzy neural networks (PSO-FNN) was proposed. Then PSO-FNN was applied in soft-sensor modeling of product particle size in ball milling circuits.

Effect of Particle Shape on Size Segregation of Particles
High-level control of the particle packing structure in a container requires the detailed analysis of particle size segregation during gravity filling. Here, we propose a method for analyzing quantitatively the effect of particle shape on the size segregation of particles using DEM (Distinct Element Method) simulation, which employ spherical particles ...

BCL9 and BCL9L drive bladder cancer progression by enhancing β‐catenin signaling, promoting proliferation, migration, invasion, and organoid growth. Genetic depletion of BCL9(L) suppresses malignant phenotypes, while pharmacological disruption of the β‐catenin/BCL9(L) complex with ZW4864 inhibits canonical Wnt signaling and tumor‐associated cellular ...

Uniformity of Size of Bacteriophage Particles
SummaryNeither fractional ultrafiltration nor fractional centrifugation have revealed any heterogeneity of size among the particles of the bacteriophage T2K (formerly called PC). The methods used for the measurement of size, namely, diffusion through agar and sedimentation in an angle centrifuge, were essentially qualitative.

Single‐molecule DNA flow‐stretch assays for high‐throughput DNA–protein interaction studies
We describe an optimised single‐molecule DNA flow‐stretch assay that visualises DNA–protein interactions in real time. Linear DNA fragments are tethered to a surface and stretched by buffer flow for fluorescence imaging. Using λ and φX174 DNA, this protocol enhances reproducibility and accessibility, providing a versatile approach for studying diverse ...

Evolutionarily divergent DUF4465 domains have a common vitamin B12‐binding function
We show that DUF4465 family proteins, widespread across bacteria from gut microbiomes, hydrothermal vents, and soil, share a common vitamin B12‐binding function. These augmented β‐jellyroll proteins bind vitamin B12 via extended loops. Our findings establish sequence‐diverse DUF4465 proteins as a widespread class of B12‐binding proteins, highlighting ...

Liming of forest soils: effectiveness of particle-size fractions
The paper studies the effect of a single use of a textural fraction of dolomitic limestone (5.1 t per ha) on soil reaction (pH/KCl and pH/H2O) and the content of exchangeable Ca and Mg (in the soil layer of 0-30 cm or in F, H and A horizons) during a 6 ...

Systemic dysregulation of apolipoproteins in amyotrophic lateral sclerosis serum
Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a fatal disease that damages motor neurons. This study found that people with ALS show significant changes in blood fats and the proteins that carry them. Several apolipoproteins were higher, lipid balances were altered, and normal protein–lipid relationships were disrupted.
