Passive flexible sensors for moisture indication
OPE Journal, 2022In the last years, Beneli (Helsingborg, Sweden) has seen an increasing interest in flexible printed electronics and sensors. The company uses screen printing for all conductive inks which can be tapered to customers’ needs

A passivity measure of systems in cascade based on passivity indices
49th IEEE Conference on Decision and Control (CDC), 2010Passivity indices are defined in terms of an excess or shortage of passivity, and they have been introduced in order to extend the passivity-based stability conditions to more general cases for both passive and non-passive systems. While most of the work on passivity-based stability results in the literature focuses on employing the feedback ...

Passivity indices for symmetrically interconnected distributed systems
2011 19th Mediterranean Conference on Control & Automation (MED), 2011In this paper, the passivity indices for both linear and nonlinear multi-agent systems with feedforward and feedback interconnections are derived. For linear systems, the passivity indices are explicitly characterized, while the passivity indices in the nonlinear case are characterized by a set of matrix inequalities.

Some Asian people believe that opium can protect the cardiovascular system. To assess this belief, we investigated the effect of passive opium smoking (POS) on cardiovascular indices in rabbits with ischemic and non-ischemic hearts. Rabbits (n = 43) were

Bounds of passivity indices via feedforward/feedback passivation
2017 IEEE 56th Annual Conference on Decision and Control (CDC), 2017Passivity indices are a pair of real numbers that quantitatively measure the shortage/excess of passivity of a system, which provide us with a useful tool for the analysis and design of compositional systems. For a system whose passivity indices are known, it can be passivated by adding the feedforward and/or feedback loop(s), such that its passivity ...

Reactivable passive radio-frequency identification temperature indicator
Journal of Applied Physics, 2015A low cost, passive radio-frequency identification (RFID) temperature indicator with (re-) activation at any point of time is presented. The capability to detect a temperature excursion is realized by magnets and a solution with a melting point at the critical temperature.

Wireless Passive Sensors for Food Quality Monitoring: Improving the Safety of Food Products
IEEE Antennas & Propagation Magazine, 2020Food waste amounts to roughly one-third of its total production every year. There is an unprecedented demand to improve long-term storage of food products while preserving quality and safety in every stage of its processing, from postharvesting to ...

Control design for switched systems using passivity indices
Proceedings of the 2010 American Control Conference, 2010This paper presents a framework for control design of interconnected nonlinear switched systems using passivity and passivity indices. Background material is presented on the concept of passivity indices for continuously-varying systems. The passivity indices are then generalized to apply to switched systems to measure the level of passivity in a ...
