An Analysis of Gradual Patch Application: A Better Explanation of Patch Acceptance
2011 Joint Conference of the 21st International Workshop on Software Measurement and the 6th International Conference on Software Process and Product Measurement, 2011Patch submission has been known as one of the most important activities to sustain the open source software (OSS). The patch archive can be analyzed to procure many benefit cognizance for supporting the OSS project works. The recent models and methods that analyze the patches acceptance are quite rack of comprehensive; hence, complex activities such as

Research and analysis of patch shape on microstrip patch antenna
SPIE Proceedings, 2017The shape of the radiating patch in the microstrip patch antenna is one of the many factors that affect the performance of the microstrip antenna. In this paper, on the premise of center frequency of 2.45 GHz, rectangular, circular and triangular microstrip patch antennas are designed and simulated respectively. The simulation results of the three ...

Analysis of stacked rectangular patch antennas with nonaligned patches or unequal patch sizes
IEEE Transactions on Antennas and Propagation, 1994Using the spectral domain technique, changes in the characteristics of electromagnetically coupled stacked rectangular patch antennas due to variations in the alignment of patches and patch sizes are investigated. Some of the observations can be used in the design of these antennas in order to equalize the input impedances at the resonances, shift the ...

Let the Pirates Patch? An Economic Analysis of Software Security Patch Restrictions
Information Systems Research, 2008We study the question of whether a software vendor should allow users of unlicensed (pirated) copies of a software product to apply security patches. We present a joint model of network software security and software piracy and contrast two policies that a software vendor can enforce: (i) restriction of security patches only to legitimate users or (ii)

Modal analysis of patch slot designs in microstrip patch antennas
2016 IEEE/ACES International Conference on Wireless Information Technology and Systems (ICWITS) and Applied Computational Electromagnetics (ACES), 2016The Theory of Characteristic Modes is proposed as a systematic approach to antenna design to achieve the goal of finding the antenna structure with optimum broadband behavior. This theory provides a physical insight to the radiating nature of microstrip patch antennas and reduces the design optimization time.

ANALYSIS OF TRIANGULAR PATCH ANTENNAS
Electromagnetics, 1989ABSTRACT An analysis of triangular patch antennas is presented. The patch is modeled as a leaky radial line terminated by a radiation impedance. Impedance characteristics of isosceles triangular patch antennas with various apex angles are shown. Theoretical results yield good agreement with experimental data available in the literature.

Crack Patching: Analysis and Design
Journal of Structural Mechanics, 1982ABSTRACT Bonded composite patches are frequently used to retard crack growth. This repair procedure is usually referred to as crack patching. The present paper outlines the various methods for the analysis and design of fiber composite patches in thin and thick structures.

Uncertainty analysis for curved surface contact patches
2016 IEEE-RAS 16th International Conference on Humanoid Robots (Humanoids), 2016We present a Gaussian uncertainty analysis of bounded curved patches that fit to local rough surfaces and are suitable for representing foothold or handhold contacts between an articulated robot and the environment. The input is a set of 3D point samples with 3×3 covariance matrices that express their Gaussian uncertainty.

Learning active facial patches for expression analysis
2012 IEEE Conference on Computer Vision and Pattern Recognition, 2012In this paper, we present a new idea to analyze facial expression by exploring some common and specific information among different expressions. Inspired by the observation that only a few facial parts are active in expression disclosure (e.g., around mouth, eye), we try to discover the common and specific patches which are important to discriminate ...

Image patches analysis for text block identification
2012 11th International Conference on Information Science, Signal Processing and their Applications (ISSPA), 2012In this paper, we propose a novel text block identification method for ancient document understanding. Unlike traditional top-down and bottom-up approaches, our method is based on supervised learning on the patches of document images, which can be considered as an intermediate level method but integrates essential advantages of both the top-down and ...
