Synthesis versus analysis in patch-based image priors
In global models/priors (for example, using wavelet frames), there is a well known analysis vs synthesis dichotomy in the way signal/image priors are formulated. In patch-based image models/priors, this dichotomy is also present in the choice of how each

Diversity and complexity in neural organoids
Neural organoid research aims to expand genetic diversity on one side and increase tissue complexity on the other. Chimeroids integrate multiple donor genomes within single organoids. Self‐organising multi‐identity organoids, exogenous cell seeding, or enforced assembly of region‐specific organoids contribute to tissue complexity.

The ubiquitin ligase RNF115 is required for the clearance of damaged lysosomes
Upon lysosomal rupture, an E3 ubiquitin ligase RNF115 translocates from the cytosol to the damaged lysosomal membrane. Moreover, RNF115 depletion impairs the clearance of damaged lysosomes, identifying it as a key regulator of lysosomal quality control.

pH‐mediated activation of the lysosomal arginine sensor SLC38A9
Cells monitor nutrient levels via the lysosomal transporter SLC38A9 to activate the mechanistic target of rapamycin complex 1 (mTORC1). This study reveals that SLC38A9 function is regulated by pH. We identified histidine 544 as a critical pH sensor that undergoes conformational changes to control amino acid efflux from lysosomes; therefore, it ...

In this paper we develop the isogeometric B\'ezier dual mortar method. It is based on B\'ezier extraction and projection and is applicable to any spline space which can be represented in B\'ezier form (i.e., NURBS, T-splines, LR-splines, etc.).

Ascidian Ciona larvae initially show strong clockwise tail twisting, which is largely corrected during development. However, a small residual twist remains. This study shows that organized helical myofibrils in tail muscles mechanically stabilize this residual asymmetry, preventing complete restoration of bilateral symmetry and revealing how embryos ...

Unstructured spline spaces for isogeometric analysis based on spline manifolds
Based on spline manifolds we introduce and study a mathematical framework for analysis-suitable unstructured B-spline spaces. In this setting the parameter domain has a manifold structure, which allows for the definition of function spaces that have a ...
